Beauty & Decay

Duality finds me,
yet it’s different this time
More obvious
It doesn’t ask any questions only sees if I understand yet
I watch as vines wrap around what is left behind in the world
Maybe simply as a notion to grieve what is gone without lingering too long
Allowing ourselves to always start again
Knowing beginnings often feel the most uncomfortable as it is a time to wonder what possibly could grow
Trusting whatever is for us will find us
I find myself feeling a deep serenity for the obvious
That both beauty and decay will always find each other
That if we’re honest with ourselves
The world makes more sense to see it that way

Beauty is
Sometimes ugly
In the rough on my skin

Beauty is
sometimes mean
In a tough love’s grin

Beauty is
Warmth when I’m cold
Watching as we grow old

Beauty is
This that and the in-between
Beauty is everything.

Beauty is
The tears we shed
Often in hindsight
by words left unspoken

Beauty is
How despite all the pain
we pick ourselves up after being broken

Beauty is
An atmospheric stillness amongst rotating planets. How we move like ants in a world so massive

I’ve been playing with some “faux film” editing. It’s fun and I like it and it can feel nostalgic in a good way. I do like the vibes.

But it simultaneously gives me the ick because I DEFINITELY used a similar filter in like 8th grade and I just 😅😮‍💨
