Welcome back to game day recap!! Definitely not the game day I wanted. I would have loved to be out on the field performing pregame and halftime. But unfortunately, I had to injure myself just last week at practice....
Whoever says marching band isn't dangerous, can talk to my very badly sprained ankle. And I know a sprained ankle doesn't seem like a lot, but I am still in so much pain. But enough wallowing in self pity, let's get back to game day!! We had a 6 PM kick off. Yay late night!!
I unfortunately was not able to participate in march over or any of the marching festivities. But I was so graciously allowed to still play in the stands and be on the sidelines! It's kind of surreal to see pregame, and our halftime show from the sideline perspective.
People had a lot of fun with my decked out scooter, bedazzled boot, my horn, and my overall cheeriness, even though I wasn't allowed to participate.
But that didn't stop me, from screaming to my heart's content and playing as loud as I could.
No matter what my game day looked like doesn't mean I didn't have fun. I just had to have fun a little differently than I usually do! Good thing I can adapt and overcome!
Being injured does put a damper on my mood and makes me actually really sad that I can't participate in most of the activities. But it did allow me to be the number one hype woman for all of my friends!!
If I couldn't show my excitedness on the field, I could show it by screaming, clapping and yelling! I just had to make changes!!! Which is also going to be next game day. Because I unfortunately am not clear to march and am still very much injured.
But that didn't stop everyone's favorite time of the game! HALFTIME APPLE!!!! Though I showed up a little later than I usually do. Because finding the elevator and getting through a crowd of people who has no situational awareness is a lot harder when you don't have function of both legs.
But the Bioson won!!! Though game day looked a little different for me than it usually has. I still made the most of it and I still had a lot of fun! So cheers to recovery, and our next home game, which happens to be on Halloween!!! #gobison #gsmb #ndsugsmb #hornsup 🦬🤘⭐️

Happy (late) Homecoming post! This past weekend was NDSD Homecoming! And boy was I busy! It all started with the Dinan Hall Homecoming Board. I did the entire board by myself. An entire week of work put on display for the entirety of campus to see. I did the sketch, paint, and all the details. And to top it all off it was featured on @redditcfb and has almost 16.6k views! Which was crazy to see!
Friday was our Homecoming Parade! It was beautiful weather and was so nice! Everyone was so hype and it was a blast! There is just something about NDSU Homecoming that I love. It might be that I'm in the band and people actually like to listen and watch us. Or the fact that people put their all into Homecoming. But either way I love it!
That then put us onto Saturday. The game we have all been waiting for our first official FBS Conference Game!
(We did wear black and yellow ribbons for the Hawkeye marching band member, who unfortunately passed away. And we will be continuing to wear them were the remainder of the season.)
Everything from marchover to playing in front of some fans, and then continuing march over to the dome was so loud. Everybody in the band was just so hype. And just had so much energy that you could feel it coming off of us in waves.
There's something about doing pregame in front of a sold out stadium on Homecoming that just hits different. It gets so loud in the dome we can't hear ourselves playing!
Pregame went very well. We headed up into the stands and started playing and yelling! And the energy only got more intense after we scored the first touchdown within a minute of the game!
But soon we had to do our halftime show!! Considering all the rain we had, where we couldn't practice on our practice field and couldn't really set the show. And despite all the odds, the show went amazing. Then everybody's favorite time... HALF TIME APPLE!!!!
And the energy only grew in the dome, the more we played and the players scored touchdowns. By the end of it, my voice was completely gone.
But all in all, I had an amazing homecoming, and I wouldn't have traded it for the world!!
Till the next gig! ⭐️🤘🦬

ITS WOODWIND WEDNESDAY!!!!🌟🌟

This week’s second WWW feature is Hannah Pfankuch, another one of our two stars!! Hannah is from Prior Lake, MN and is studying Mechanical Engineering. Her favorite pep tune is Runaway Baby and the kitchen utensil that Hannah feels the most connected to is a Cheese grater, but the baby kind.

I know its late once again but I have my reasons!
This past weekend was absolutely crazy! Let's start at march over. It was wayyyyyy to hot out to wear our uniforms so we got to wear out polo's. The energy was immaculate!! Little did I know the energy was only geting started!
We had a good following for marchover and it only grew the closer we got to the dome.
We soon were all dressed up for pregame and to say you could feel the energy from the stands is an understatement. People were actually watching us and might I say we did a fabulous job.
With pregame out of the way we headed up into the stands where we (and I mean me) started my tradition of yelling at the other team and refs. Totally didn't get any stares or anything. Couldn't be me... I don't know what your talking about.....
We then watched multiple touchdowns and played On Bison a few times.
Soon it was time to depart to the tunnels once again for halftime. In the 3 practices after last game we added the rest of the show to music. It might not seem like a huge accomplishment but it really made the show better.
Halftime was great! People actually stayed to watch us! Not saying the usally don't but it was more than usual!
HALFTIME APPLE!!!!
Once back up in the stands we played more music. Watched more touchdowns and played On Bison once again! By the end of the game my voice was dead and all I wanted to do was sleep for a week. But I had one last bust of energy for the Beer Song and Low Rider. We ended up leaving victorious with another win under our belt.
Now we are off from games till October where we have something going on almost every weekend.
But that wasn't the end of the weeked for us. We still had the Minnesota State Fair Parade. And that was an adventure for another time!
Till next game! ⭐️🦬🤘

Another band camp in the book! I had such an amazing time this week, seeing all my friends again! I am forever grateful, I get to be a part of The Gold Star Marching Band!
This week was busy as usual, with our first home game being less than a week away; we had to learn the entirety of pregame. And we already have the first two songs of our halftime, show put on the field and almost played with music. This is the first time in apparently a long time that pregame, and almost all of halftime have been completed in one week during band camp. Not to say they don't need a lot of cleaning, but just having them on the field is a miracle!
Which is absolutely amazing but my body can definitely feel that we were going a lot quicker than usual.
But with all that hard work, we still found time to enjoy ourselves and have fun! If that be with our fun dress up days during the week or our band BBQ. Where we get to play games and pie our section leaders and just enjoy the last day of band camp before classes start on Monday.
This was one of the best weeks I could have asked for though it was a little hot some days, and we definitely didn't want to be doing anything. Our section leaders and our drum majors kept it fun.
I will be forever grateful of the friendships, I have had the pleasure of making and the memories I will hold near and dear for years to come. And best of all the picture perfect moments that are going to forever be on my phone.
Cheers to the 2026-2027 Gold Star Marching Band Season! Hope to see you soon! 🦬⭐️🤘 @ndsu.gsmb @gsmb.clarinets #rollherd #gsmb #goldstarmarchingband

I can’t believe that something I have loved for so many years all of a sudden ends on a random Wednesday. Words can’t describe how much I will miss my second home @metropolitandance and how much I will miss my MDA family. The relationships I have built over the years mean so so much to me and all the memories we have will definitely be cherished 💗💗💗

First semester at college is done and now in the books. I will hold and cherish these memories forever. From marching band, to more marching, and even more marching. But seriously, some of my best memories from this semester are from band, but also my resident hall. Getting to draw on my whiteboard and people stopping me to say they like it is amazing. And also the rough design for the hall government shirts that I got to make. But my fondest memories are from band. I loved the community I got to be apart of. So thanks to everyone for helping me make these memories! ⭐️🤘🦬❤️
