I had a blast up in Grass Valley at the 23rd annual Goodtimes contest. The last contest I skated in was about 27 years ago, but now I’ve got the bug and I’ll be back next year to chase that podium. Thanks to @salmon_bloodwizard for rattling my cage and getting me out. Thanks @goodtimesgv for putting on such a rad event. Thanks to all the homies bringing the fun and big energy. Everyone was ripping and hyping each other up. The scene is strong!

The 23rd Annual Grass Valley Skate Contest went off this past Saturday, and is definitely one for the books! Saturday brought more participants than we’ve ever had, so a huge thank you to all the skaters that came out and absolutely destroyed our new @grindlineskateparks. Another big thank you to all of our sponsors, we couldn’t do this without all of your support. A big shout out to @iris_skateboards for making sick trophies once again. Thank you JB at @academysnowboardco and @tahoetaffy for coming out and sponsoring Best Trick in the Gold Pan and giving out Taffy to the kids. Thank you Matt Casper at @vansskate for coming out again and giving out shoes and accessories to the participants. Thank you @chrisroach255 from @flojoyh2o for keeping everyone hydrated throughout the day! Thank you @magnethead2 from @lowcardmag for making the trek from The City, sponsoring the event, bringing the good vibes, and judging the Best Trick contests with @jworthit and @zachmp79543, as well as making a sick edit of the day! A HUGE shout out to our awesome judges @toadally @gus_coronel and @sean_m_sanford! The skating was sooo good and these dudes had to somehow judge all the sickness that went down. Thanks to our friends at @hypeicedtea for coming out and making sure nobody went thirsty. Thank you to our incredibly amazing registration staff @mellissajarretteart @tmalovie @pnkrckgrl43 and Cassie! A huge shout out to @xojulieleigh for crushing it at the raffle booth. @rippingfeather stepped up to DJ and absolutely knocked it out of the park with sick skate classics all day. @mikey_merica BBQ’d once again for everyone…so a HUGE shout out to him! @salmon_bloodwizard slayed it once again on the mic, keeping everyone entertained and hyped all day. A huge thank you to anyone that helped with set-up, tare down, and cleaning up the park. Thank you to all of you that took photos and have been sharing them with the community. A big THANK YOU to @mykenry for taking these incredible photos!! We’ve got more of them to come. And of course a big shout out and thank you to Sam Anderson!! None of these events would happen without him. And THANK YOU to our awesome skate community! Much ❤️

I had such a blast at the very first contest at Grass Valley’s new skatepark. I was honored to judge the comp with @toadally and @gus_coronel which wasn’t an easy task, as there was so much ripping in every category. These are the only pics I took as I was busy having a blast and seeing so many friends.
Infinite thanks to @andy_jarrette and the crew at @goodtimesgv for getting this going and all the really hard you all did to make sure it went perfect. Also thanks to @mikey_merica for being grill master. Also huge thanks to @rippingfeather for being an incredible DJ, playing only songs from classic skate vids. So rad!
I’m already counting the days til next year. 🙌👏🙌👏

@hanzy_driscoll with a kickflip to fakie 📸 @sean_dolinsky. The @thephoenixtheater not only hosts a buttload of bands. It also has some ramps inside. Perfect for a rainy day sesh. Located at 201 Washington street in Petaluma. It’s been a staple of the scene for many years. What was your favorite show you’ve seen there?
