I love fashion, but I also love my bank account and the environment 💖💚🤎 I’ve been coming up with ways to add stylish pieces to my wardrobe while saving money and prioritizing sustainability, and one of my favorite ways is free clothing swaps. My favorite local one in Washington, D.C., hosted by Happy Daze (@happydazeswap), is holding its next swap this Sunday, October 4, at Vintage Vintage Vintage (@vintagevintagevintage.dc). I’ve been to four of Happy Daze swaps so far, and I always score at least a couple of quality pieces. These are just a few of the pieces I’ve added to my wardrobe. I’ve also found 100% cotton sweaters, cute athletic wear, and even designer pieces ... all for free!!! How do you like to stay savvy with your fashion and finances? #ClothingSwap #FrugalFashion #DCFashion #SustainableFashion #ThriftyStyle

⭐ Last Weekend in June Round-up: June 26–28 ⭐ Back in New York, but my brain is still fully in the DMV. Instead of leaving you hanging, I’m choosing to experience FOMO through a screen — so if you hit any of the pop-ups I’ve mentioned this week, DM them or tag me so I can live vicariously 😔 DMV ratings (tins + cafés) are dropping next week and the week after. NYC exploration is officially underway too, so there’s plenty more coming. #dmvfoodie #dmvmatcha #dcmatcha #vamatcha #weekend

This time of year brings up an age-old question that puzzles even the tidiest among us: What’s the best way to get rid of unwanted stuff? Whether you have furniture that’s ready for a new home, clothes that haven’t seen the light of day in years, a printer that’s gathering dust, or (if you’re like reporter Sam Delgado) scores of tote bags that seem to multiply every year, you’ve got plenty of options to donate, recycle, or sell your items before tossing them in the landfill. Swipe through above for our tips on donating locally — and click the link in our bio for the full guide if you've got items you'd prefer to sell or are ready to recycle. Know about something missing from our guide? Tell us below! (Illustration: Maddie Poore)
