Wildlife Wednesday 💚 Christine caught this fab shot of a Reed bunting at Summer Leys- isn’t it beautiful? Reed buntings are sparrow-sized and can be found in reedbeds, wetlands and farmland, feeding on seeds and invertebrates. In the winter, they join mixed flocks of buntings, finches and sparrows. In summer, the males have black heads and black throats extending down into a bib, with a white collar and white ‘moustache’. In winter the head is mostly brown, though the white collar and ‘moustache’ are still obvious. The throat becomes pale, though there are usually traces of the dark bib still visible. The Glossy Ibis > Credits: @happyhensnaps & @jooliejaz > A shimmer of bronze and emerald, the Glossy Ibis wades like a jewel in the marsh. 🕊️ Macnjenni Bird Gallery – Bird 28 Glossy Ibis 🪶 Information The Glossy Ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) is a striking wading bird found across warm regions of Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. It is instantly recognizable by its long, down-curved bill and iridescent plumage that glows with green, purple, and chestnut tones in sunlight. Preferring wetlands, marshes, and flooded fields, the Glossy Ibis feeds by probing the mud for insects, crustaceans, and small aquatic creatures. These birds are highly social, often nesting in colonies with herons and egrets, and their graceful flight lines add elegance to any waterscape. Fun fact: The Glossy Ibis is the most widely distributed ibis species in the world, making appearances on nearly every continent. --- 🌿 Poetic Caption In rippling light it bends, a curve of bronze and flame, the ibis turns the quiet marsh into a living mirror. --- 📌 Instagram Hashtags (20 total) Bird-focused (10): #GlossyIbis #PlegadisFalcinellus #WetlandBirds #IridescentPlumage #MarshBird #WadingBirds #BirdsofTheWorld #BirdPhotography #WildlifeWatching #BirdingDaily Macnjenni Gallery traffic (10): #Macnjenni_BirdGallery #FeatheredWonders #AvianInspiration #BirdArtistry #WildlifeArtGallery #NatureThroughMyLens #BirdWatchingDaily #BirdLoversWorld #BackyardBirdingJoy #BirdingCommunity

My heartbeat quickly rose when I thought @happyhensnaps special tree creeper had made its way to Warwickshire 😲. However I then noticed it wasn’t in a tree, was a little larger than I would have expected and was pigeon shaped !😀. At least it was all white 🤍 but don’t think this humble #pigeon will be making it into the press 📰🗞️🎬😂😂. #rspb #warwickshirewildlifetrust #nikon #tamronlens
