Harddiskmuseum GEN – DNA as a Museum ñ From digital to molecular memory. I’m excited to announce that my project Harddiskmuseum GEN, where I stored the metadata of an entire digital museum on a synthetic DNA molecule back in 2020, will be part of the upcoming exhibition The Imaginary Museum at @rizqartinitiative in Abu Dhabi, opening on September 19th. This piece reflects on the fragility and resilience of memory in the digital age, turning the invisible into presence, the intangible into substance. Originally born from the Manifesto Intangible, the Harddiskmuseum continues evolving — now encoded in the language of life itself. #DNA is no longer just a biological code. It becomes storage, metaphor, and a political material for archiving culture beyond the limits of hardware. @esat_valencia #dinazielinski Special thanks to @art_project_partner and vidyakelie @harddiskmuseum And of course each of the more than 150 artist participants. #Harddiskmuseum #DNAstorage #ArtandScience #DigitalMemory #BioArt #SolimanLopez #TheImaginaryMuseum #RizqArtInitiative #AbuDhabiArt #NewMediaArt #IntangibleHeritage

*Fungi-Fi* is not just an ordinary artwork; it is a cross-media project that takes on multiple forms. Its conceptual core? An ecological dystopia built around a seemingly salvific and revolutionary invention for humanity. A work that compels us to engage in an ambiguous reflection on humanity’s tendency to pollute its relationship with the natural environment through an anthropocentric, instrumental, and consumerist vision. Unveiled as a groundbreaking patent through the lens of advertising-style storytelling, Fungi-Fi envisions a future (perhaps not so distant) where big tech corporations exploit the natural intelligence of the mycorrhizal network to create a new form of wireless connection — not without consequences. 📍Current show "Transformers – Sustainability Players" at @gg3_group_global_3000 in Berlin. 📽️ Fungi-Fi is broadcast in Berlin. After Bangkok, Bergamo, Bogotá, and Venice, my "artwork-project" has now reached the German capital, selected for the international art exhibition TRANSFORMERS – Sustainability Players at Group Global 3000. This piece continues its international journey, sparking interest and opening new conversations on technology, environment, and the Anthropocene. Unveiled as a groundbreaking patent through the lens of advertising-style storytelling, Fungi-Fi envisions a future (perhaps not so distant) where big tech corporations exploit the natural intelligence of the mycorrhizal network to create a new form of wireless connection — not without consequences. I'm thrilled to showcase this artwork in a context that critically reflects on our role in sustainability. The exhibition, open in Berlin until April 27, offers an opportunity to explore these themes through profound insights and diverse perspectives. “Fungi-Fi” by @enrico.dedin, short-cut teaser of the fake-promo video. Fungi-Fi is a fake brand that projects into our post-truth present a revolutionary, seemingly saving invention that looks like something out of a sci-fi movie. In fact, Fungi-Fi has the traits of an ecological dystopia, a possible future in the Anthropocene in which humanity solves CO2 emissions by enslaving the entire plant kingdom to guarantee itself a super internet connection. How? Inventing a wi-fi capable of picking up the electrical impulses of the Wood Wide Web, thus connecting to such an internet of the woods, the mycorrhizal network discovered by Suzanne Simard. With persuasive and emphatic language typical of advertising storytelling, Fungi-Fi aims to reflect on the human-nature relationship as a function of techno-scientific progress. Highlighting both humanity's anthropocentric vice of thinking of the environment only as a resource to be exploited and the mania to commodify every knowledge, thing and creature for evergreen consumerism. “Fungi-Fi” by @enrico.dedin, mixed-media installation view of the artwork stored in the @harddiskmuseum, the world's first museum inside a hard disk. Would the world be a better place if we were able to connect with wi-fi thanks to plants? The work starts from this suggestion to shape an ecological dystopia in the near future in which humanity solves the CO2 emissions of Internet servers by connecting to wifi through the electrical impulses of the plant world. WoodWideWeb in your pocket!
