A crane tipped over, crunching a New Jersey family's home and damaging another house next door.

One of those homes was set to go on the market in the coming days, but that will now have to wait.

The owner of the other home impacted said if it hadn't been for a change of plans last night, there would have been someone sleeping in the room where the crane came crashing down.

After runners participating in a New Jersey half marathon were seen on video trudging through waist-deep flood waters amid Sunday's rain, the organizers of the event have been placed on probation by Bergen County and will not be allowed to plan any events in the county for at least a year.

One runner said weather conditions continued to worsen as the race went on, and at one point, he and his cousin had to help an elderly woman fighting the current, as she was unable to make it through on her own.

A county spokesperson said the half marathon was a private event in Paramus and they advised the race organizers to use a different route to help avoid areas at highest risk of flooding.

The organizers of the race have not responded to multiple requests for comment.

Some neighbors in Bayonne are upset after bird-deterrent netting was installed beneath the 8th Street and Broadway bridge.

The reason they're upset? They say the netting has trapped some pigeons inside, preventing them from getting out. It has prompted a rescue effort as crews work to free the birds.

In the meantime, the city has asked the public not to interfere with the standing protocol.

New Jersey is quickly becoming soccer central for the tri-state, and now there will be a new professional team taking the pitch in Middlesex County.

The team doesn't yet have a permanent club name, or even a logo — that's for the public to help decide on. It will be affiliated with NYCFC, and in baseball terms, will be a AAA-level team.

Whatever the team is called, they will play at the county's new $350 million sports complex called "nexus" located in Edison.

What started as a little experiment with a big idea — a way to deliver the news differently than you’ve ever seen before — is now a reality!

Starting today, News Zone is replacing the Kelly Clarkson Show (gulp) from 3-4pm on NBC New York.

It was always a long-shot. But thanks to our tiny (but mighty) team, and all my colleagues who have busted their butts, News Zone has grown into something we are super proud of.

The show is totally unscripted.
So you never know what’ll happen! (Double gulp)

But you’ll definitely get a peek behind the curtain, as we chase down the biggest or most interesting stories in real-time.

I’ll be your captain and i hope you’ll join us for the ride!
