Coach Flohr is ready to Squash the Swarm. Are you?

Coach Flohr and the Hardrocker football team are the only ones who can control what happens on the field Saturday. (Trust us, Grubby tried to get on the roster for this weekend, but the coaching staff says he needs work on his footwork, his blocking, and his general understanding of football.)

But we can help out in the donor challenge! Every gift gets us one donor closer to outgiving those buzzing BHSU Yellow Jackets while supporting our incredible student-athletes on and off the field.

So let's give the swarm something to buzz about. Make your gift today!

Just don't wait too long. The Donor Challenge closes Sunday at midnight!

The 4th most played rivalry game in NCAA history will be kicking off this weekend as South Dakota School of Mines (RV 5-1) hosts Black Hills State (4-2) in the 141st edition of the Black Hills Brawl.

The game is tied for the oldest rivalry in Division II (Battle of the Ravine Ouachita Baptist-Henderson State) dating back to November 28th, 1895 and as mentioned has been played 140 times prior to this weekend’s matchup only trailing The Game (Harvard/Yale)-141, Princeton-Yale-147, and The Rivalry (Lehigh/Lafayette)-161 for the most played rivalry in NCAA history.

The Hardrockers lead the all-time series in the rivalry 67-62-11 and are the winners of 8 of the last 13 matchups having won the 140th edition of the game 27-13 and have also kept a streak going of the road team winning the Black Hills Brawl in each of the last 5 matchups.

The 140th Edition of the Black Hills Brawl will be played this Saturday at 6:00 Mountain Standard Time (8:00 EST) and will be broadcasted through the @rmac_sports Network. Radio broadcast is also listed on both team’s schedules with a BHSU broadcast airing on KDSJ 103.5 FM, and a SD Mines broadcast listed as airing on KZLK 106.3 FM.

SD Mines is hosting the game at O’Harra Stadium in Rapid City, South Dakota which has been labeled as one of the top bucket list stadiums in small school college football.

Will the Hardrockers continue to build momentum and improve to 6-1 or will the Yellow Jackets play spoiler and make it 6 consecutive games that the road team wins in this storied rivalry?

SD Mines is going into the bye week following a huge 30-16 road win over Fort Lewis yesterday (10/3/26) afternoon.

The Hardrockers’ rushing defense was just as impressive, as they limited the Skyhawks to just 15 total yards rushing.

While SD Mines’ pass game clearly missed WR Joshua Morales, the Hardrockers’ defense stepped up, bringing down 3 interceptions and recovering 2 fumbles, including recovering a fumble in the end zone for a defensive score.

Leading SD Mines to the win were:
🏈 Gage Baker, 6 Cmps on 9 Atts for 70 Yds to go along with 15 rushing Yds & 1 rushing TD;
🏈 Dawson Dunbar, 15 Carries for 110 Yds & 2 TDs;
🏈 Ty Harris, 15 Carries for 46 Yds plus 1 Rec for 16 Yds;
🏈 Jadon Lemmons, 6 Tackles (4 Solo & 2 Ast) & 1 INT;

🏈 Gabe Frerichs, 6 Tackles (1 Solo & 5 Ast) with 1 TFL & 1 Fumble recovery; &
