So Saturday was the busiest day of my career.
It kicked off with a live cooking demonstration @foodfestivalnewport in the morning followed by two private dining events in the evening.

On stage I cooked my @ukmasterchef creation Laverbread and cockles saag paneer approved by both @haughser and @gracedent
Inspired by my favourite curry house @popadomsnewport

The crowd loved it and ate every scrap in seconds.

Thank you to Newport Food Festival for having me. I love this new career and hope to keep growing it.

Thanks also to Siân Roberts for the chat on stage.

And lovely to meet @chef.carlcleghorn and to see @owen_morgan_44 again.

And that’s a wrap on Playback.

What an awesome end to the festival. It’s been emotional, euphoric and genuinely inspiring full of brilliant conversations, bold ideas and, most importantly, so many great people.

It was a real privilege to be the main host, welcoming speakers, audiences and collaborators into conversations about the talent, ambition and imagination driving Wales’ growing creative industries.

I’ve met so many inspiring creatives, innovators, producers, researchers, funders and partners,each bringing something unique to the conversation. Those connections, shared experiences and moments of possibility are what make events like Playback so special.

There has also been so much to celebrate: the achievements of Media Cymru and its consortium partners, and the work happening across the region to champion innovation, skills, storytelling and the future of media.

A particular shout-out to PDR, who have been instrumental throughout. Their support and commitment have been a dream ✨So thank you!

I’m heading home with new connections, fresh inspiration and plenty to reflect on. Excited to see what comes next, and to keep building towards a creative future that is ambitious, inclusive and full of possibility.

A huge congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists - so well deserved 👏✨

Day 1 of Playback was an absolute highlight. From thought-provoking conversations to incredible creative work, it was a brilliant reminder of the people and ideas shaping the future of storytelling, access and immersive experience.

Yesterday’s panels brought together an inspiring line-up, including the BBC’s Deputy Director-General Rhod Talfan Davies, Melanie Dawes; @melanie.rodrigues01 , CEO of Creative Access; Sir Peter Bazalgette or “Big Baz”, as I may have affectionately called him 😜Lucy Wo from @brightbranchmedia Branch Media, Louisebray of @littlebird_films Bird Films, and Richard Pring from @WalesInteractive, Jo Ward of @pdr_design to name just a few.

There were so many valuable conversations around creativity, inclusion, innovation and where our industries are heading next. It was a real privilege to be in the room.

A standout moment was @teamlab presentation all the way from Japan truly jaw-dropping work that pushes the boundaries of immersive art and audience experience. And the performance from @the_official_ristband was something special too.

Feeling very grateful to have had the chance to be on stage as part of it all. More from Playback to come…

It’s been ten years since I retired from swimming and the ONLY thing that somewhat resembles the stakes and adrenaline I used to get from racing is live broadcasting on TV. Being part of the @s4cchwaraeon team that reported on the Commonwealth Games live for the first time was not only unprecedented but incredible. Such a career highlight discussing Team Wales’ performance in the pool and across the entire games from the studio.

On the 8th and 9th of August 2026, Tân returns to the Brecon Jazz Festival. bigger, louder, and more powerful than ever. We’re taking over not one, but two stages: the World Music Stage and the Acoustic Stage, showcasing an amazing lineup of incredible Welsh artists.

This marks the second Tân World Music Stage, made possible through the support of Arts Council Wales thank you for investing in a legacy-making moment for music in Wales. And thanks to the Welsh Government, through Creative Wales, day two expands even further with the Black Acoustic Stage amplifying new voices and fresh sounds.
Across two unforgettable days, expect a vibrant fusion of sound, culture, and energy. This is Tân. This is Brecon.
