I don’t know how to write this without sounding corny, but I was truly blown away on Monday by the calibre of incredible, inspiring, intelligent and thought-provoking women I had the privilege of sharing a room with @womenofyear

My imposter syndrome was in full force, but I’m so grateful to have been recognised alongside Jo Slater, Kathy Wier and Lindsay Burrows for our work raising awareness and funding for one of the most devastating diseases, MND.
Lewis, Dylan, Ethan and I are a year into this journey and are just getting started with the impact we hope to make but to share the stage with three women I admire so much, was truly humbling. Their strength, humility and overall love and hope has shone through and I hope that I am able to continue in the same way.

As Lindsay so beautifully highlighted, while we may be the women behind the names and famous faces, we also represent the many ordinary, extraordinary people navigating this disease as partners, carers and parents, doing everything they can to hold their worlds together.

I’ll continue working with Lewis, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and everyone connected to this cause, in the hope that one day we can say we live in a ‘World free from MND’

But back to Monday, to everyone involved in Women of the Year, an event spanning over the last seven decades; what a special event you have created, thank you for allowing me to be a small part of it 🙌🏼

✨ A little story about the power of a transformation.

One day, a new client walked into the salon and said he wanted a change. So, naturally, I asked him: “What’s the occasion?”

His answer? “My wedding. I want to look my best.” 🤍

So, I decided to completely transform his look, working with his natural hair texture, the shape of his face, and the style that would suit him best.

And voilà! ✂️

Fast-forward two years, and he’s still complimenting me on that transformation. Even better? He tells me that all his friends have started changing their looks, inspired by his own!

Stories like this make me incredibly happy. Being part of such an important moment in someone’s life is a privilege, and it reminds me why I love what I do.

Because for me, it’s never just about hair.

It’s about understanding who you are, listening to what you need, and finding the right way to help you feel confident, powerful, and truly yourself.

That’s what feeds my soul. That’s the real reason behind my work. ❤️✂️

A great haircut can change your look. The right transformation can change the way you feel about yourself.

And that’s the magic I want to create, one person at a time. ✨

One of the first bits of adventure training I did with the Army was learning to scuba dive. In Plymouth. Cold, zero visibility and way too much seaweed. Naturally, I hated every second of it, especially when we failed the underwater navigation test bcos we surfaced in entirely the wrong place (zero visibility, remember 🤓).

There was also the nagging fear (I think just mine, but maybe the boys felt it too and just kept quiet) that altho the dive instructor consistently told me there are no killer sharks in those waters, WHAT IF????? I mean, it’s not like there are doors blocking their path in the ocean. What if one got lost…? First time for everything right? 🤷‍♀️

Next time I dived (dove?) was in Mallorca and I saw a super cute little blue fish and very nearly changed my entire feeling about diving. So I went to St Lucia…. and snorkelled.

ANYWAY. Whole new fear unlocked last night at the #whalefall premiere. As if sharks in shallow waters weren’t enough to irrationally worry about, whales have now made the list 😂🎣
