Poetry is my Purpose and I take my ministry very seriously.

A couple of weeks ago I had the honors of kicking of “Women’s Herstory Month” at Em Tea Coffee Cup and got to create and curate an amazing vibe celebrating our Womanhood!

In this sacred space through creativity we vented, talked about our cycles, our hormonal changes with age, lessons we learned from getting older, gave advice to those younger than us, shared our motherhood journeys, we laughed, we sighed, we shared our flings, we talked about our “toys”, our shortcomings, our relationships with our bodies… fathers shared their experiences raising daughters, brothers shared their vulnerabiities, passions and stories.

We heal collectively when we have spaces to EXPRESS not REPRESS. I love what I do! It’s holy for me.

LOVE You all! Can’t wait for the next one. 😊🌹🌹🌹

I love our creative community!!

@buffalofashionrunway quite literally made history at @sheasbflo with their “Black Carpet III” Fashion Show.

The event comes at a pivotal moment: It’s the centennial year of both Black History Month and the Broadway Theatre’s existence. Last weekend, Black Culture, Fashion, and Style was front and center at the historic venue, something never done before🔥

During our Junkie Art Week, #CREATEorDIE we kicked off our first day with “BEAUTY SHOP TALK” hosted at @hilitesbuffalo with @kellygotinspired . An event inviting all of our neighboring people, colleagues, community members and peers to sit in on a conversation to hear from some of Buffalo’s black women who also are the most influential artists and entrepreneurs of our tri-state area. These women have accomplished amazing feats from all sides of the corporate ladder, entrepreneurial culture and academic excellence. While they are all very skilled in their fields they’ve made great leaps forward in pushing the needle for any and all people especially black & brown people to have access to information, liberation and education.

During this recap episode we are introduced to @custom_by_tai and their fully rebranded vision for their company. Indulging in visionary media, visual arts, podcasts and much more creative endeavors. If you’d like to keep up with their works and find out more about them make sure to follow @custom_by_tai

THE LADIES FIRST SOCIAL🥂

This event was meant to build deeper connections around the origin of The Ladies First Project. And it did just that.

There are so many powerful, gifted, influential women in Buffalo who tirelessly uplift music, art, culture, and hip-hop and many times they go unseen, and unheard because they understand the responsibility of the work, so they keep their heads down and with sheer instinct, provide what our community needs.

And while that is so so honorable, I, like many others desire to know these women and continuously stay inspired by them, and join in on the work.

I am beyond grateful for all the meaningful, beautiful, and serendipitous connections that were formed last weekend and quite literally cannot wait to get started for Ladies First 2026!

This is only the beginning.

Special thank you to our performers and speakers: @brownbagladee @aitheanomaly @j_mitch24 @lindsayniccs @mzzkeyzz @therealdjliberty @brownskinnetwork ✨

To all the partners and caterers: @buffalo_plant_burger @beesweet716 @blanc_photographie @primelikewhinellc ✨

AND A VERY BIG THANKYOU TO @chelspace33 , owner of @third_space_buffalo who so gracefully hosted us✨🙌🏿

Moments captured by the incomparable @blanc_photographie 📸

The gratitude is never-ending.

So much more to come from @ladiesfirstsv
