#WhyWednesday

Once the season begins, the goal of training changes.

During the off-season, we can push higher volumes, build new physical qualities, and create greater training stress. In-season, the sport itself becomes the athlete’s highest training load.

That means the weight room needs to complement competition—not compete with it.

In-season training should prioritize:

* Maintaining strength, speed, and power developed during the off-season
* Reducing unnecessary volume while keeping intensity and intent high
* Addressing what the sport overuses and training qualities it may neglect
* Managing fatigue around practices, games, travel, and recovery
* Keeping athletes durable and prepared throughout the entire season

The goal isn’t to stop training when the season starts. It’s to fill the gaps sport doesn’t fill, and ensure athletes are their healthiest, most explosive selves Kate in the year when it matters most.

Great in-season programming helps athletes stay strong, explosive, and available when their sport demands it most.

#WhyWednesday

When the season starts, the demands change.

What mistakes do some make? Training the same as their off-season, or omitting training altogether.

At ETS, in-season training isn’t about adding as much work as possible.

It’s about identifying what the sport is already giving the athlete — and filling the gaps.

That might mean maintaining strength, preserving speed and power, improving tissue capacity, restoring movement, or simply reducing volume so the athlete can perform when it actually matters.

The goal isn’t to win the workout or grind into the dirt.

The goal is to help the athlete have the availability to perform at their best when it matters the most.

What a great week down in KC, we had another home run from Gia Tirevold helping us beat the Magic 5-1.

Merrit Walberg won Pitcher of the Tournament! Mer went 20IP with an ERA of 1.4 and BAA of .176! Mer was great this weekend battling through the heat.

Harper Stangl won the Offensive MVP and it is very much deserved! In 26AB Harper batted .538 with 14H!

The girls finished with a Co-Champion with a very strong Force Impact team. Incredible to see the grit and hard work the girls put in to see results!

So proud of the girls this past week at the IDT, one of the best tournaments in the country. Going 7-2 on the weekend with our only loses being to the CA Corona Angles and the RI Thunder who both made it to the final 4.

We had great defense and awesome hitting! Huge shoutout to Taitum Kostecka, Erika Aidas , and Harper Stangl on their homeruns on the weekend! And an especially big shoutout to Annabelle Waldoch for hitting her very first homerun! Congrats AB!
