Senior Post pt. 1

This year has been an absolute blessing, I just wish it had lasted longer. In the blink of an eye senior year flew by. I'm blessed to have had such an amazing cohort of peers, friends, and family to spend this year with.

In ROTC, I've had the pleasure of serving as this year's Battalion Executive Officer. It has taught me a lot about leadership and the sacrifices it takes to get the mission accomplished and providing for the welfare of my cadets. I had a few goals going into this year for ROTC: build the discipline of myself and my subordinates, improve the success of the program, place in a color guard event and place overall at a drill meet and to be the kind of leader that people aspire to be like. In my opinion, I met all these goals and more. I'm proud to have fostered the growth of this program and to have led my teams to placing at drill meets against tougher, fiercer, and more experienced schools. The platoons that I visited and stayed in also showed significant growth from the start of the year. Additionally, the physical fitness and discipline of myself and cadets increased dramatically. All of them make me so proud, especially those that may not have been physically fit but have become well rounded cadets at pt. The cadets I'm leaving behind have shown me so much kindness and gratitude, to which I'm eternally grateful. I could not be here without the support I've received from them.

My classes this year were tougher than ever as well. With every assignment that was posted in canvas I felt the weight increase dramatically. Towards the end I definitely felt the impact of senioritis set in but I still finished the year strong. On the ACT, I. Could not be happier either. I secured a 31 this year meaning that I'll be able to attend Southeastern Louisiana University completely paid for. I would have never surmised going to college for free was even possible my freshman year, but to be so close to it now is truly tantalizing.

This year, I also participated in two productions by the PHS Drama Club. I was the assistant stage manager for Disney's Dare to Dream and Captain Hook/ Mr. Darling/ Chris for the production of Peter Pan Goes Wron

Well. The post I’ve dreaded making (which is why I’m so late lol). another JTF season has come and went. It breaks my heart to say it’s my last. These 2 years have been nothing short of incredible. When life got me down, this community never hesitated to bring me up. Our team always gets told “we are such a great community”, but to actually feel that is a blessing. I’m so thankful I can call this team mine. I can’t even begin to brag on how amazing these people are and how blessed I am to have had this experience. I’m truly speechless, not only from our talent but how proud I feel knowing that God gave me the opportunity to perform at JTF one last time. My greatest award was getting to know yall and myself.
