What we’ve been refining in contemporary privates lately 👇🏼

✨ More dimensionality in her port de bras. The arms are no longer just lifted, they’re connected through the back body. Movement traveling from center → through the scapula → out to the fingertips.

✨ A deeper, more expansive plié. Widening outward instead of compressing inward. Grounded, but energized.

✨ Clearer opposition and counterbalance in off-center work. Not just leaning… but creating trajectory.

✨ Breath leading transitions so the movement phrase feels inhabited, not posed.

This is the difference between placing shapes and embodying pathways. The details are subtle… but they change everything 👏 #contemporary #sarasotaballetschool

Let me break it down 👇
Small moments can still be real breakthroughs.

With gentle hands-on guidance, Harper first releases her arms and allows the head to drop, letting go of excess tension in the upper back and shoulders. Through light spinal massage, we create space and release before inviting the roll-up to initiate from the base of the spine, rather than compensating from the upper back.

Once that release happened, the sequencing changed. The roll became clearer, smoother, and more intentional, something she immediately noted she had never felt before. That sensation made everything click for her.

Mastering the basics creates efficiency, prevents compensation, and allows more complex movement to happen with freedom and intention. #contemporary #sarasotaballetschool
