For a long time, I think I believed that peace came from resolving the contradictions. I’m learning to make peace with the paradox. That two things can be true at the same time.

I can be proud of what was built, and know I can be better.
I can disconnect, and be more connected.
I can hold joy and sorrow.
Pride and imperfection.
Noise and silence.
A smaller circle and more love.
An ending and a beginning.

A dear friend who walks with the angels now has reminded me that there is peace in the surrender and that I have the courage for both. I can be grateful for what was, honest about what hurt, curious about what I can learn, and hopeful about what I cannot yet see.

This season isn’t asking me to have all the answers.
It’s teaching me to trust the paradox.
