Australian Galleries Sydney is moving its exhibition program across the road to 10 Roylston Street where we will be continuing with a full exhibition program. The exhibitions will be shown in the renovated area currently used for stock. There will be a reduced stock hang in the rear of the same building.

In addition to this we have recently launched our new website. Many of you will have already viewed it and it is already proving to be successful in this increasingly online world.

When we started in NSW in July 1989 with an exhibition by Tim Storrier we thought we might be in Sydney for 20 years, it’s actually now 36 years, with 775 solo exhibitions held in Roylston Street so far, and no end in sight.

Just for interest I’m listing a selection of wonderful exhibitions held in our Sydney gallery of artists sadly no longer with us – Arthur Boyd, John Coburn, Fred Cress, Brian Dunlop, Donald Friend, Bruce Goold, Inge King, Peter Kingston, Colin Lanceley, Kerrie Lester, Mandy Martin, Sidney Nolan, Justin O’Brien, Margaret Olley, John Olsen, John Perceval, Peter Powditch, Lloyd Rees, William Robinson, Jan Senbergs, Jeffrey Smart, Brian Westwood, Brett Whiteley and Fred Williams.

We are selling the current gallery building at 15 Roylston Street and the move across the road will depend on the sale and settlement date. It’s unlikely to disturb the current exhibition schedule for this year.

There is no change in the Melbourne Galleries set up, now coming up to its 70th year.
