I wrote this song by my self- a few weeks ago, as a celebration of being yourself, after connecting with people around the world— who, also, like me, have been told they don’t fit into the boxes they were given — This song honors identities in all its forms — This is for everyone, the trans, the non binary, the they/them’s, the she/he’s, the men, the women, straight, gay, bi, shy, loud, children, elders.. and everyone else. But this song is NOT a sad song or a cry for permission. It’s a celebration. This song says one thing loud and clear: Being yourself is not a phase. It’s the upgrade. Because you weren’t born to impress anyone. You were born to express yourself, and that will shut the haters down! 😘 Swipe to read the lyrics

”Lujain’s chronicles: Lujain vs enemies” the movie
as a huge anime nerd, i GEEKED when @tomf000lery made me out to be the dopest, coolest warrior!!

as an artist, it represents the fight against the mundane & the strive for authenticity
as a Syrian, it represents the fight for freedom, over a decade of war & the final fall of the dictatorship regime
as a woman, it represents the strive to be seen, heard and respected
as a human, it represents the eternal struggle against all oppression and the faith in coming out as a winner

xo all love, Lujain
