Let me tell you about my first time filming at Goodwood Festival of Speed. 🎥

This event absolutely blew my mind. It’s something I’ve wanted to shoot at for years, watching friends and others get the chance, but to finally be invited to film for the official team? Now that was something special.
Still, nothing could’ve prepared me for just how full-on, chaotic, sweaty and completely amazing it would be.

I stayed in a house with two people I’d never met before, got chauffeured every day by an absolute legend, and by the end of the event, two became friends and the other, a new bestie. It’s wild how quickly friendships form when you’re running on minimal sleep, surviving off a steady diet of hot sweaty sandwiches and Haribo, and averaging 20,000 steps a day under the blazing sun (at least I came home with a decent tan).

I got to interview F1 legends (i can’t show much yet), film current F1 drivers, and be surrounded by a constant stream of iconic cars, including Project Midnight, which ended up becoming the fastest internal combustion engine car at the event, driven by the absolute icon that is Scott Speed (yes, that’s really his name)

But what made this whole experience unforgettable was the people, both the wider crew and my own team over the five days. The Goodwood team were next level though, So welcoming, incredibly well-organised, and full of the kind of positive energy that kept everything running smoothly, even when things got a bit mad.

And my team? We clicked straight away. No egos, just respect, effort, banter, and a genuine “we’re in this together” vibe. We supported each other, hyped each other up, and worked our socks off. And honestly, we smashed it.

The laughs were constant. Every day was full of good vibes, ridiculous inside jokes, shared pain over sore feet, and those moments where we’d look at each other like… “yep, we’re melting.” But by the end of the week, I didn’t just come home with memory cards full of footage, I left with new friendships, stronger bonds with old ones, a full heart, and probably a mild case of heatstroke.

Festival of Speed 25. The Goodwood Productions crew out in force creating nonstop content over 5 days of the event for the official Goodwood channels and the World Feed Live Stream. The dedication from the crew in sweltering conditions was not to be understated. Very proud to see the enthusiasm of the team and the output and feedback from the numerous content streams.

This year we bought new projects to life with @iamradzi @roxylinghamdavis @danielhughesfilm and @ell.knight creating an all new daily round up series showcasing the best of the behind the scenes event content.

@simonostlercars on presenting duties for our long form interviews with Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost and Mario Andretti with @keefikus @dom_thecameraman @jedclist_lighting @sam_1sp @harrycharltonsound @lisajgeorge and special shout out to @craigwvenn who pulled out all the stops to make sure we had a car for our film!

@ian.waterhouse2 on MC duties inside the Randox studio and presenting duties for @ameyturner Future Lab alongside @track_side_girl @jamesblakefilm supported by @sonyprofilmmaking hot head cameras.

All crews were supported by @mrjamesloader @max.shotss and the team at @sony.unitedkingdom who provided invaluable support throughout the event which meant our teams were never without kit.

If someone was to tell me that just 6 months after graduating from university that I would be working my dream job I would have probably just awkwardly laughed and said “I wish!” Well 6 months ago started the best journey of my life where I was giving the opportunity to work full time with the Goodwood Productions team and was later offered a full time contract. My dream job… combing my love for both motorsport and videography. It truly still has not sunk in yet that this is reality and now my life! This year’s Festival of Speed marks exactly a year since I was first involved with the Goodwood Productions team and to now think I have become part of that team means the world to me. I wanted to thank everyone I have met along this wonderful and challenging journey for all their support and help and for fuelling my love and passion for this new career! 😁
