"We played the show in our alter egos. So I had a black, cheap ass wig on the entire time this was happening. Also, I had toe shoes on. I was like, “If I get murdered right now, firstly, I’m going to feel insane. Secondly, this is something that would happen in a horror movie, where I would be the dumb girl that gets murdered with a cheap Party City wig on.”

Twin Temple’s new album, Doomed Lovers is out TODAY, and what better way to celebrate than by talking to the satanic doo-wop duo themselves?

After a whirlwind summer that saw Alex and Zach James make headlines, receive an outpouring of support, share the stage with Jack White, and make their Daily Show debut, Twin Temple are back with eight deliciously devilish songs that draw from the golden age of American rock and roll.

But beneath the horns, hellfire, and vintage sounds is something deeply personal. We talked about the healing power of making music, working with producer Shooter Jennings and a 37-piece orchestra, the struggles of the music industry, and why the Devil has always had a home in rock and roll.

As Zach puts it: “Phil Spector had symphonies for teenagers. Brian Wilson had symphonies for God. We have symphonies for Satan.”
