When my kids were too young to even know 2 of them were going to study fine art and pursue their own careers in the art world and 1 of them study History, I spent 5 years working on an account supplying large art pieces for a hotel chain, influenced by Mark Rothko (who I became a little obsessed with 😬) and who now my kids also take inspiration from. This week the Rothko on Paper exhibition was followed be Helen Frankenthaler’s equally as mesmerising woodcuts, recommended by the kids themselves, an artist I’ve never studied or had much knowledge of before and whose images had the same Rothko intensity and intrigue. This is the beauty of art…It connects (the physical art and the history of art). The more we share and talk about it, the more we have to appreciate. X
