The Number 1 Manufacturer of performance engine mounts for Hondas.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
My vision for this 1996 Honda Accord SiR was to combine Japanese, Thai, Indonesian and US tuning culture together in one. What would it have looked like if @7eleven raced in the Japanese Touring Car Championship back in the mid 90s? This is pretty much my interpretation of that fantasy. Of course back then the H22 race engines made about 400hp. We were able to make 430whp on 91 octane pump fuel on a conservative tune.

I wanted to thank @hagerty for having me on this project, and our major sponsors for the build. @poprace__ , @magnaflow , @typesauto , @heatwavevisual , @antigravitybatteries and @torquebrakefluid. I also wanted to thank my entire team, including @caglejohnson23 and @mickeyandrade for pushing so hard to get us to the finish line.

I am very proud of the results and now we are fully ready for @radwoodofficial. If you want to come check it out in person the event is in the Bay Area (Alameda) on Saturday October 24th. The event is 100% free. If you like my build and I actually earned your vote then come help me win this contest against @vin_tra and @mike_stanceworks.

At the end of the day it was just an honor to be able to compete against these two giants in the industry. I’ve always been very candid about the fact that I am just a photographer and story teller, I’m not a builder, but I love to participate in my way.

The best part of all this is that you will be able to own a part of this car in the form of a 1/64th scale model from Pop Race coming soon.

I also can’t forget to thank Egor @livery.delivery for the constant back and forth and many late nights working on every aspect of the design and livery to get us to the finish line.

I also wanted to thank our supporting sponsors:

Engine is in! Well kinda, this is no where near what the final position will be. Why? Axle angles are way too aggressive for the proposed ride height and bump travel. I’m using off-the-shelf Hasport K CD5 mounts in the higher position on my spare K24 to get an initial position. The axle is an 02-06 CRV axle that’s identical to RSX-X but 30mm longer.

The main goal is to get the center of the diff as high as possible to reduce the axle angle. Also don’t worry, the frame rail will be notched to clear the axle at full bump lol!

Step one is to lean the engine forward from this initial position. I started at a block angle of 14 degrees and managed to get to 9 before the subframe needed more clearance. Leaning the engine this way basically kicks the back of the trans back and up. This 5 degree change raised the center of the diff a full inch and decreased axle angle over 2 degrees! This is huge, but we can do better!

Next up is to the drop the subframe and notch as much as possible. I think I can retain the steering rack mounts because the next step is to move the powertrain back and up by using the shorter K20. Hopefully over the steering rack.

The K20 is about 0.8” shorter than a K24. With this engine we’ll push it up as close to the hood as possible, maybe even use a lower profile valve cover. I’m hoping this will raise the diff another inch or two. We can play with even more of an engine lean but proper trans lubrication is a concern and modification to the oil pan.

Moving the engine back will also help weight distribution while moving it up will give us all the ground clearance we need and not require a dry sump.

So much work to get this car to function at a slammed ride height with proper geometry and power train. The final position will depend on interference with the steering rack but I have some other ideas to address that if we want to get crazy 😈

Stay tuned as I cut this subframe up!!
