The fall colors are starting to pop and the fishing is hot!

I had a great time on the river yesterday with @kathryn_rhodes and John. It started cold but the fishing was hot. One brown and many willing cutthroat to the net for the morning.

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan. I thought it might rain but planned on having at least a couple hours to fish. The rain had other plans and started right when I started fishing. Still happy and grateful to get out ☺️.

Today was one of those days that’s honestly hard to put into words.

The Rocky Canyon Fire has burned more than 15,000 acres around the East Canyon area, and it’s crazy to see how much of our wildlands has already been destroyed. These are places so many of us spend our time fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and just getting outside. It’s hard to see a place that means so much to so many people change so quickly.

We were really grateful that we could help out in even the smallest way today. It might not feel like much compared to the amount of work being done out there, but we were happy to be able to show our support.

And to every firefighter, first responder, pilot, and crew member out there fighting this thing, thank you. Thank you for putting yourselves in harm’s way to protect our communities and the places we all love. Stay safe, and hopefully every one of you gets to make it home to your families.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the Rocky Canyon Fire. ❤️
