Honestly, yesterday was rough. I spent a good chunk of the day crying and feeling like my hands were tied, (in not-so-fun ways). I’m also coming down with a cold, so that’s also hella cute. Taking my son trunk-or-treating lifted my spirits a bit, and this morning I woke up to some really cool stuff on Reddit. (I love y’all, you’re awesome.) There’s a lot of heavy shit happening in the world right now, but also? So many weird little distractions, sweet memories, and beautiful art to get lost in. Take care of your people. Take care of yourself. Share your art. Share your heart. 🫶🏻 And hey, if anyone snagged an extra guitar pick from Dan’s show last night, hit me up. I think it would look so good in my FutureNever shadow box. 🎸🖤

What hurts you is not what others do to you, it’s what these experiences activate inside of you. It’s the story you tell yourself about it. It’s not about what happened, it’s about where it hit you. We suffer because we think somehow we can control how the world treats us. If only we are good, smart, beautiful, understanding or rich enough, then no one could hurt us. Deep down you know that’s a lie. I have stopped living on the surface and I am now inhabiting the depths.✨

Remember: Rules are for people you don’t like. Every person you meet is three people. 1. Who people think they are. 2. Who they think they are. 3. Who they actually are. Social motivation comes from three core needs. 1. Feeling safe 2. Feeling capable 3. Feeling connected Someone who is distant, needs more safety. Someone who appears aggressive may need to feel more capable. Someone who appears clingy needs more connection. Take care of yourselves, I love you.💕
