The Day I Said Goodbye

Jessi walked out of WOGA for the last time today. Her gymnastics career has come to an end. She leaves today with countless amazing memories, lots of pride, and excitement for her future. I (mom) am so proud of her for making this decision and realizing there is life beyond gymnastics. I thought this day would be sad but it is full of hope and she is so happy which makes me so happy.

In the coming days I will be posting reels of memories from each gymnastics year. It will be fun to look back and give an official end to her years.

One of the best vacations EVER!! We took a Disney Merrytime Cruise and were gone over Christmas. It was so fun!! Jessi met so many characters, danced as much as she could, ate lots of ice cream and Mickey waffles everyday, had a princess makeover at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, visited the gorgeous US and British Virgin Islands, watched Broadway caliber shows (Moana is our favorite), spent lots of time on the top deck enjoying the beauty of the islands and open seas and rode the slides on the boat! It was a beautiful week with our family and Santa even flew in Christmas Eve!!

We had a scary event at the beach yesterday where all of a sudden we were hit with really strong straight line winds. We quickly gathered all that we could and tried to secure items from blowing away. Unfortunately we lost our canopy and we will probably be cleaning sand out of our ears for days but at least we were safe and didn’t lose anything else. Thankfully there were no storms and we were able to return to the beach for a beautiful rest of the day! @hawkeyentexas

Happy “Gotcha Day” to our boys Einstein and Chopper! We are so thankful to be chosen to bring these boys in to our family one year ago! Jessi loves playing fetch with Einstein and having him sleep by her side. She loves the silliness of Chopper snd chasing him around when he has the “zoomies!” We pray for many more Gotcha Day celebrations!

For a girl who wanted to get back in the car and drive home without competing - Jessi ended up having a lot of fun at Yellow Rose Invitational. She got PB on floor with 9.875 and a PB on beam with 9.85! She also got a season high on vault after training a tsuk instead for just a couple weeks. And her bars were looking so much better….until she fell on her flyaway! She is so proud of how her bars looked and definitely happy with her vault. She also earned her 3️⃣8️⃣ all around score!! The competition was very tough but we are very proud of her 4th place AA!

Trying something new!
