Brown is a 6’3 senior guard for @hayeshoops whom we got to cover during the @nycvsnjclassic.

Coming off a very productive summer on the @uanextboyshoops circuit, Brown has continued to show his expanded offensive game. He’s a well-known marksman off the catch from beyond the arc, but Brown can now score in a multitude of ways.

Brown showed a new comfort attacking off the bounce and getting into his pull-up. On separate possessions, Brown put the ball on the floor, sought out contact to create space and either knocked down a mid-range jumper or a floater off two feet.

In transition, he made himself a reliable target. He consistently filled the lanes and caught hit-ahead passes for layups. He even converted on a tough reverse layup.

@b.wickk_ is a true point guard that makes sure his teammates will get involved with him. His ability to finish and have others contribute is what makes it hard for others to guard him! Great performance at City is mine!

We caught some good action during the @nycvsnjclassic between @hayeshoops and @sppbasketball_

Hayes would come out hot to start the game and leaned on experience to gain an early lead on their opponent. With St Peter’s Prep being a younger team, Hayes used their high IQ, size advantage, and superb shooting from beyond the arc to control the game, going into the second half up 37-30.

St Peter’s Prep may be a younger team but their talent level makes up for it. Led by their sophomore Dallas Baldwin, they got after it on the defensive end. On multiple possessions, they forced turnovers which led to them capitalizing on scoring opportunities at the rim or beyond the arc.

In no time this game became a dogfight late in the second half and with Hayes struggling to take care of the ball, St Peter’s Prep took advantage and never took their foot off the gas. They ended the game on top winning 72-68.

Christian Brown has established himself as one of the top scorers in the Class of 2027.

The 6’5” guard out of Cardinal Hayes (NY) is coming off a huge summer on the Under Armour circuit, where he led the entire UAA 17U circuit in scoring with 20.4 PPG, 4.2 RPG and 3.2 APG while shooting an impressive 42.9% from three. Brown earned UAA Offensive MVP honors and elevated his play even further at the Finals, averaging 26.0 PPG and 5.0 APG.

Brown is a talented three-level scorer who can knock down shots from deep, create off the bounce and make plays for his teammates. His impressive summer has helped him gain interest from high-major programs as his recruitment continues to pick up.

After helping Cardinal Hayes reach the CHSAA AA city championship game last season, Brown is looking to carry that momentum into a big senior year in the Bronx.
