Time flies when you’re having fun and when you’re surrounded by an incredible community! ❤️ We’re SO grateful to celebrate 11 incredible years of MORI, and we want to extend our deepest thanks to EVERYONE who has supported us along the way from our early days in Ward Warehouse, to South Shore Market, and now to our beautiful new home inside the historic Hawai‘i State Art Museum (@capitolmodern). Thank you all so much for being a part of this wild/beautiful journey with us! We wouldn’t be here today without your support.🙏 As we step into this exciting new chapter at Capitol Modern with fresh faces, talented new artists, and lots of vibrant happenings ahead in the new year, we’re thrilled to reveal our refreshed MORI logo, designed by the brilliant team at @onwardcreative (Noa Emberson & Reed Dolman). Playful, colorful, and full of personality, the new logo reflects the spirit of our vendors, makers, and the uniquely crafted works they bring to life. The new logo’s companion typeface is HB Konjac by @hbtype, a digital type foundry and collaborative design studio of Hyo Kwon and Berton Hasebe.✨ AND to celebrate our anniversary in true MORI style, we’re hosting a special pop-up on 11/22 with @asyoulikewaikiki, serving up their signature musubis and handcrafted Kona Cola. Come take a photo in our photobooth by @thelvrggroup, enjoy giveaways from @mintclover with any in-store purchase, browse our exciting new drops including our limited edition collaboration tee with @candicedoodles and @worldwidewalls, and soak in allll of the good vibes! We’ll have live DJ sets from @maxhigh01, @aituuuuuuuuu, and PatRock from 12-2pm. We can’t wait to celebrate with you and help kick off the next chapter of MORI! Let’s partyyy! 🎊 #morianniversary #hawaiiartists #localart #supportlocal#capitolmodern #morihawaii

#wip I’m gonna set up a publishing house to republish the translated (to the English) prison memoirs and courtroom transcript excerpts of the anti-imperialist nihilist #kanekofumiko Coming from a much different time and place than many of this translation’s likely readers, yet, so much of her story is still resonant with experiences of alienation and the quotidian rage of being within and against empire today. Plus, a cute little love story at the end with the Korean anarchist #pakyeol. Beautiful title/header type by @hbtype (HB Lossy), and text type by this guy 😬👈
