Heddiw, y disgybl oedd yr athro! 👨‍🍳👏

Dangosodd un o’n disgyblion gwych ym Mlwyddyn 12, sy’n gweithio mewn siop gigydd, sut i dynnu’r asgwrn o ysgwydd porc, ei stwffio, ei rholio a’i chlymu.

Sgiliau arbennig a moment falch iawn i mi fel athro! Gwych oedd gweld disgybl yn rhannu ei wybodaeth a’i brofiad gyda ni. Da iawn! 🌟

Today, the teacher became the student! 👨‍🍳👏

One of our fantastic Year 12 pupils, who works at a butcher’s, demonstrated how to debone, stuff, roll and tie a pork shoulder.

Fantastic skills and such a proud teacher moment! Brilliant to see a pupil sharing their knowledge and experience with us. Da iawn! 🌟

We had the privilege of hosting the Welsh Mountain Sheep Society open day on our farm at the weekend. We welcomed farmers and families from across the farming community to hear about what goes on our farm. There was a tractor tour, cracking sheep on show and an amazing sheepdog demonstration by our neighbour, along with great talks and food. Huge thanks goes to everyone who helped make the day such a success.

And to top it off ..we might even have sold the bull.

🌱 SFS in Practice: Multi-Species Leys & Trees – next Wednesday at Peithyll

Before our Innovis Ram Lamb & ProHill Sales get underway next Wednesday, we’re hosting a practical morning looking at how multi-species leys and trees can work within the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS).

Join us at Peithyll to hear from:

🌱 Charlie Morgan, Grassmaster – how multi-species leys can improve sustainability and productivity in intensive sheep systems, with practical insight into their management.

🌳 Phil Morgan, Sustainable Forest Management – how trees have been successfully established at Peithyll, including overcoming dry conditions and ongoing maintenance.

You’ll also get to see real examples of these practices working within a commercial sheep system here at Peithyll.

📅 Wednesday 23rd September
⏰ 10:30am
📍 Peithyll Farm, Capel Dewi, Aberystwyth

✅ The event is open to everyone, and farmers participating in the Sustainable Farming Scheme can gain CPD points for attending.

Afterwards, stay on for our first Innovis Ram Lamb Sale at 1pm, followed by the ProHill Sale at 2pm. 🐏

👉 Register for the morning event by clicking the link in the bio or call us on 01970 828236

We couldn’t let Love Lamb week pass without shining a light on some of the processes that go on behind the scenes to ensure that we at Farmers Pantry can bring you the best of Welsh Lamb.

Our butchers was founded by Rhodri and Gaynor Davies of Rosedew Farm, and 15 years on, their son and daughter in law Dafi and Natalie Davies rear lambs in the Vale of Glamorgan, exclusively for Farmers Pantry Butchers - that is something we’re very proud of.

Also, who knew, when you’re a sheep farmer, you also get pretty good at hair dressing!

Thanks for sharing this snippet of farm life with us Dafs 🐑

It’s Love Lamb Week! 💚🐑

Here in Wales, lamb isn’t just food, it’s part of our landscape. Thanks to our lush green fields and plentiful rainfall (unless we’re having an unprecedented heatwave that it), we have some of the best grazing land in the world. Which means Welsh lamb grows naturally fed off the land, abundant, and packed with incredible flavour.

We’re proud to supply Rosedew Lamb alongside other trusted Welsh Farms and suppliers, bringing the very best to your table.

From hearty Sunday roasts to quick midweek meals, Welsh lamb is versatile and nourishing.

Find us in Llantwit Major, Whitchurch, Penarth, Brackla, Pughs Food Hall (Radyr & Wenvoe), James Food Hall (Pyle), Cardiff Garden Centre (St Mellons), or shop online at farmerspantry.shop.
