Channeling some inspiration from grad school lately. 👨🏽‍🎓 @_jeremydeprez introduced me to Harvey Comics around the same time I was getting into Neo-Expressionism, particularly the German artists.

I find myself returning to both visual languages these days, making connections and enjoying the process.

PAPER, my next solo exhibition, opens January 2027 at @hcfl_artgalleries 🖼️ More soon.

After a little vacation from posting, why not hit the feed with something I rarely do, a selfie.

I may not look it here, but life is pretty damn good right now. 🥰 A big part of that is learning to love myself. I’m also lucky enough to be in love with my best friend, @tiff.litz 💋💋💋

My crew at @greaterpublicstudio has been crushing it too, knocking out client work while finding time to help bring my January solo show at @hcfl_artgalleries to life.

Feeling grateful. 🥹

Tomorrow in Ybor! Closing reception & artist performance ✨

Elizabet Cerviño: The Rhythm of Resilience (El Ritmo de la Resiliencia)
July 30 – September 24, 2026
Closing Reception & Artist Performance Thursday, September 24, 6-7:30 p.m.
Gallery114@HC Ybor City Campus | 1411 E 11th Ave, Tampa, FL 33605
Join us for the closing reception of Elizabet Cerviño’s The Rhythm of Resilience, featuring a site-specific performance by Cerviño and a community collage exhibition inspired by her work.

For Onomatopoeia, Cerviño collaborates with HC Ceramics Instructor Alex Zak and HC ceramics students to create hundreds of square clay tiles, each inscribed with a different letter. Together, the tiles will form a phrase and will be stacked to Cerviño’s height using approximately 600 pounds of clay. During the performance, Cerviño will remove the tiles one by one, sound out each letter, and then drop the tile to the floor, where it will shatter. As the letters are spoken and the tiles break apart, language becomes sound, movement and physical matter.

The closing reception will also feature a community collage exhibition created in response to The Rhythm of Resilience by HC Art Galleries members and members of Lance Rothstein’s Collage Clique. Displayed on the gallery’s exterior wall, the collages offer a range of personal visual responses to Cerviño’s exhibition.

Come experience The Rhythm of Resilience one final time and join us for an evening of performance, community and creative response.

On Thursday, Aug. 20, HC Art Galleries welcomed students and guests to its annual Back-to-School Bash, celebrating the start of the 2026-2027 academic year through art, music and culture.

The evening featured the opening of The Rhythm of Resilience by Cuban-born artist Elizabet Cervino in Gallery114 at Ybor City Campus, along with Passport to Cuba, live music, Cuban-inspired bites and a special mini "Silent Hawk-tion". Guests also enjoyed El Flordita, HC Art Galleries' members-only Cuban mocktail lounge.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an evening of creativity, connection and culture!

La Galería at Haya welcomes Aspiring Water, a collaborative exhibition by Florida-based artists Carol Mickett and Robert Stackhouse, presented in partnership with Hillsborough College. 🎨

In Aspiring Water, collaborative artists Carol Mickett and Robert Stackhouse explore water as a source of beauty, power, movement and possibility. Through paintings and prints depicting oceans, rivers and the human relationship to waterways, the artists consider both the vitality of our aquatic environments and the growing threats they face. From the clear waters and thriving live oaks imagined in Aspiring Gulf: Live Oak to the warning of An Imbalance of Fire, the works invite us to consider what a healthy, balanced relationship with water might look like and what we can aspire to create through environmental stewardship.

Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, September 3 from 6-8 PM in Hotel Haya’s Valencia Foyer to explore the collection, connect with the artists, and experience an evening of creativity and community.

Free admission | All are welcome
$10 event valet parking or nearby city parking available.
