Being ESG compliant is a non-negotiable – but building an ESG strategy will be the driver for change 🌱

At our event ‘True ESG: Moving Beyond Compliance to Purpose’ in September, we invited CBS Associate Professor Kristjan Jespersen and Senior Director and Co-founder at Position Green Simon Taylor to discuss ESG strategy with a focus on Danish companies’ performance as well as a case study on companies’ biodiversity efforts.

According to Kristjan, companies must assess their impact, master the terms, fight the resistance to change, and identify the opportunities to succeed with their ESG strategy.

“Many firms are really good at understanding risks and impacts, but how do you transform an organisation to meet those challenges and still further excel? It’s one of the hardest and most common challenges we see today.”

Meet the speaker for our upcoming event on US trade relations in relation to the 2024 US presidential election 🗳️

Yumi Park is an Assistant Professor at @cbscph. She’s part of the Department of International Economics, Government and Business at Copenhagen Business School and has expertise in international political economy.

Yumi specialises in the politics of trade and financial market policies. She’s currently working on a book project, which investigates when and why domestic banks lobby for financial market policies that liberalise markets.

Her research also spans topics that lie at the intersection of international cooperation and domestic politics, such as currency swaps and bilateral investment treaties.

At the event, Yumi will discuss different scenarios depending on the election outcome and how this will affect US trade relations, especially for Danish companies.

The event ‘We’ve got a deal? The 2024 US Presidential Election’s effect on trade relations’ is online on 7 May from 15:00-15:45. Register through the link in our bio 👆

From professional cyclist to experienced CEO – how does a career in sports influence leadership style? 🚲💼

Last Thursday, participants gathered at the latest @cbs.executiveeducation and @cbs.mba event to explore the intriguing relationship between sports and leadership.

The spotlight was on Alex Pedersen, a former professional cyclist with multiple championships under his belt. Today, he's the CEO of Samn Forsyning, an organisation dedicated to wastewater management in the municipalities of Odder and Horsens. During his talk, Alex shared his personal story and career journey, focusing on how his sports background has shaped his leadership style.

The audience, inspired by the insights, actively engaged in discussions. Their questions for Alex explored strategies for fostering innovation within the public sector, overcoming mental barriers, and cultivating self-impression for success. Additionally, the critical role of team dynamics was explored.

The talk was hosted and moderated by @cbscph PhD Fellow Rikke Rønholt Albertsen, who also had a career in sports and management.

Thank you to everyone who joined this event. Make sure to always stay on top of our upcoming events through the link in bio!

“We are tasked to figure out how we will co-exist on this planet (...) and we have to think critically, under a capitalist system, what is the role of business in ensuring that this is successful?” 🌎

In March, @cbs.executiveeducation hosted an event titled ‘The end of ESG? Navigating the turbulent landscape’, focusing on the current backlash against ESG and how to navigate it.

Luckily no one at the event thought that we were nearing the end of ESG – and neither did our speakers at the event Kristjan Jespersen, Associate Professor at @cbscph and Simon Taylor, Senior Director & Co-founder at #PositionGreen.

The end of ESG? Looks more like we’re at the end of the beginning ✅

Yesterday morning, CBS Executive Education hosted the event ‘The end of ESG? Navigating the turbulent landscape’. 100 participants joined this session, where @cbscph Associate Professor Kristjan Jespersen and Senior Director and Co-founder at Position Green Simon Taylor spoke on the current landscape of ESG – from the global backlash to the state of Danish companies’ reporting efforts.

Kristjan’s presentation gave some insights into the current tension around ESG, the rise of ESG metrics and offered discussion points on both the disadvantages and advantages of ESG.

Simon followed up with some valuable insights into the state of Danish companies’ ESG reporting, stemming from Positions Green’s ESG100 report. Interestingly, Danish companies are the least prepared for ESG work compared to Norway and Sweden. Something that will need to change, because as Simon said...

“In the next 5-10 years, ESG and AI will be in everything.”

Thank you to everyone who joined the event. If you missed it and wished you could join, we’re working on something. Stay tuned💡

Are we at the end of ESG? Not according to our +100 guests for this morning’s ESG event! 🍏

@cbscph Associate Professor Kristjan Jespersen and Senior Director and Co-founder at #PositionGreen Simon Taylor shared insights on the current landscape of ESG — from the backlash to the new requirements.

Because as Simon said in his presentation: “In the next 5-10 years, ESG will be in everything just as much as AI”.

Looks like when it comes to ESG, this is just the beginning 🌳 Thank you to everyone who joined the event!

On this #internationalwomensday2024, we highlight the importance of bringing female and feminine perspectives to topics within business and society.

Diversity will continue to be a key factor in solving society's grand challenges and building systems, businesses and communities that benefit everyone – not just some.

This is why we need to make an effort to amplify voices and perspectives from different walks of life and experience.

At @cbs.executiveeducation, we strive to foster platforms for diverse voices to be heard and bring nuance to our existing ideas of business development, leadership and innovation, to name a few.

We're taking this day to thank all our @cbscph faculty and speakers from the private and public sectors, who contribute to our events and help nurture seeds of change. And a special thanks to the women who take on and research business challenges and want to help others overcome them.

Speakers from previous events (pictured): Dr. Poornima Luthra, Anne Reff Pedersen, Louise Lundby-Christensen, Sofie Lindskov Hansen, Christa Breum Amhøj, Pernille Steen Pedersen and Simona Maschi.
