One week ago today, the Wilton HS marching band placed 1st in A Class at Connecticut championships, winning best percussion, music, and general effect.

Marching band has caused me to grow so much both as a person and a musician and I will be forever grateful for all the opportunities and experiences it has given me. I have met so many new friends and grown much closer with my existing ones.

It doesn't feel like it has been long since I was a freshman, showing up at my first band camp and playing congas in front ensemble. Looking back today, in charge of the percussion section, I am so proud of not only how far I've come but how our band has grown. We have gone from being a joke in exhibition to being on top of all of A Class.

I am so grateful to everyone involved. Our teachers through all four years - Mr. Williams, Mr. Gordon, Teacher A, Mr. Reynolds, and more. My family and my brother. And most of all: my fellow band members, especially fellow seniors, who played the largest part in bringing the band to where it is today.

This is bittersweet for me, but I cannot think of a better way to end my time in high school marching. I am sure this will not be the end of marching arts for me, and I am excited for what is yet to come. Thank you all for everything!

Last but not least - I got to meet my favorite soloist from my favorite ever DCI show on Saturday! @ryandavidjacobs

I was pleased with how clean this was. I spent a long time polishing it. I think I did well. Rushed the full measure of tap roll. Taps were a teens high, otherwise fine.
See you tomorrow!
