More than just a padel club. 💙

Yesterday, Padel Power proudly fielded the Thursday Club team at the St Crispin & Harlestone CC 6-a-Side Fun Day… and what a brilliant day it was! 🏏

At Padel Power, we’re about far more than what happens on court. We’re building friendships, supporting local clubs, and creating a community that gets involved both on and off the padel court.

A huge thank you to everyone at St Crispin & Harlestone Cricket Club for putting on such a fantastic event. Great people, great atmosphere, and a great reminder of what local sport is all about.

Here’s to more days like this. 🙌

Delivering results and avoiding destroying your body in the process is a huge priority.

All too often we can select exercises that may deliver exceptional results like back squats, bench pressing and deadlifting but they can also place a huge stress on your body and joints.

Maybe if you are in 20’s this is something your body can totally deal with but as we age we must be more strategic and smarter with our exercise selection.

Single leg training exercise like the rear foot elevated split squat effectively work your legs but spare your spine through avoiding spinal loading.

Alternating arm action for example used in the seesaw chest press and low cable rows help create rotation in the upper body that can help towards keeping your lower back and shoulders healthy.

Here’s @healeyb programme

Reactivity 🦘
1a) Overhead MB throw
1b) Lateral jump w/MB

Resistance 🏋️
1a) 2KB Rear foot elevated split squat
1b) Assisted Pull up

2a) Hip thrust
2b) Seesaw Incline Chest press
2c) Split stance low cable row

Resiliency 😅

3 rounds of
- ski erg 10cal
- plate toe touches x 15
- band tricep push down x 15

A very sociable 🍻 SCHCC side entertained touring team @dartfordianscc on Wednesday night.
Plenty of beers and fantastic food (BBQ Squad) was eaten by all and it would be fair to say, Cricket was the winner…. Even though the touring team by 12 runs 😉
Some even had the energy to play football afterwards, others settled in the bar for after-game refreshments.

I hope you all got home safely. Thanks for an enjoyable evening.

When I build programmes for our members I am looking at ✅ 4 boxes.

1️⃣ Mobility
2️⃣ Athleticism
3️⃣ Strength
4️⃣ Conditioning

➡️ Mobility, which is not shown in this post is huge. When people come to Tier 1, my first goal is to get them moving better. Ultimately as we age our joints get a bit more cranky so want someone to have more pain free range of motion.

➡️ Athleticism - I would like everyone I train to be able to show some form of athleticism. Of course I don’t want grandma Betty to be able to do a triple jump but I would like her to throw a medicine ball and be able to do some pogo jumps.

This has a HUGE carry over to health and longevity. I want my people to able to play a sport at the weekend or play at the park with their kids.

➡️ Strength - A stronger person is more useful, confident and resilient person. No matter what your health goal is, strength training will get you there!

➡️ Conditioning - Yes this can help burn a few calories and burn some fat but to use it as the only fat loss tool is a huge mistake. I use it to build a cardiovascular engine for the benefits of health and longevity.

Interval training or metcons are great at the end of workout but there is also huge value in performing longer duration, lower intensity cardio too outside of these sessions.

Hers’s @healeyb , workout.
