🩷 Mindful Horsemanship is a somatic approach that helps horse and human develop greater awareness, connection, and ease. By honoring the horse’s sentience and paying attention to how we show up, we create willing, joyful partnerships while supporting balance, strength, soundness, and freedom of movement for long-term wellness and performance.

Thank you to @heartcenteredhorsemanship for bringing “Sidekick” to visit this morning providing a little pet therapy for shelter guests. They fed him cucumber from the garden. We snacked on strawberries and cherry tomatoes from the garden. And we hauled in 60 lbs. of fresh organic produce from #GardenOfEatin and @happyrootsfarmnc 🌱

We were hoping for 50lbs., but between #GardenOfEatin and @happyrootsfarmnc , we ended up clocking in 62 lbs. of fresh organic produce to Jeannie’s Kitchen this week! 🌱

We had more folks, both new and familiar faces, helping in the garden this morning.
It’s good to hear guests proud of contributing to the meals there and everyone enjoying the garden produce as well as their time in the garden. 🌱

A whole 2 lbs. were cherry tomatoes but we’re still patiently waiting those big ones to make ‘mater sandwiches! 🍅 Maybe next week!

BIG THANKS to the shelter guests who come out on Wednesdays and those who help keep it watered on in between days.

BIG THANKS to Stacey Carter of @heartcenteredhorsemanship who graciously led a grounding and mindfulness session with the group…

And BIG THANKS to Aron, Ashlyn, Geoff and Julie for helping in the garden today again as well. 🌱🙏🏽🌱🫶🏽

Life can be heavy… but the garden and good company can be the medicine you need.🌱

Feel free to stop by the #GardenOfEatin (7/8) between 9:00–10:00 a.m.
We have a garden to tend to and vegetables to harvest.

Stacey Carter, founder of @heartcenteredhorsemanship will also be joining us for a time of grounding and mindfulness in the garden. 🌱

We had a blast hosting @trinityoaksccrc at the farm! Blessed with a beautiful day, our guests had the opportunity to meet the herd and learn about equine assisted learning, therapeutic horsemanship, and “speaking” the language of horses. We visited the “mini-pen” where they met the goats, Reggie the mini horse, Charlie the cow, and Opal the llama. They were also treated to horsemanship and riding demonstrations featuring our lovely Friesian mare Scarlett and trainer @heartcenteredhorsemanship , who explained how horses can respond to subtle and nearly imperceptible shifts in the rider’s position and energy.
Horses and humans all had a wonderful time, we look forward to having this lively group back again!!

🌾 Mother Nature had perfect timing for tonight’s Equine Workshop. Our focus was on harmony and peaceful leadership — and she set the scene beautifully. 🌅🐴

🐴📖 When your co-facilitator really is invested in the lesson… 🤣

Our 6-week Equine Assisted Learning Workshop kicked off tonight, and clearly the horses are just as excited as we are!

Horses have a way of reminding us not to take life too seriously—and to stay curious, present, and connected. 💫

Here’s to 6 weeks of growth, grounding, and maybe a few slobbery pages along the way. 😉✨
