It’s so hard to even put into words what basketball has meant to me and what the end of this chapter of my life feels like. Taking time to sit in all the emotions, the joy, the frustration, and the sadness have allowed me to reflect on how faithful the Lord has been through this entire process.
I could probably write an entire book of what my life has looked like with basketball but I just want to share a small testimony of how God has been my anchor through this entire process. The ultimate goal in my life was to play college basketball. God gave me that dream and he also blessed me with the talent and passion to achieve it! He put people in my life to help me elevate to reach those goals. Most importantly he gave blessed me with a support system that would love on me and guide me through it all. Choosing UNC was not a decision I made alone. Through prayer I made the best decision of my life to play basketball in Greeley, Colorado! I know it’s not Paris but this is the here I have seen God begin to mold me into who he created me to be.
These last four years are filled with some of the best and hardest moments of my life. But with God I never had to endure it alone. He blessed me with the best teammates and sisters who helped me get through the valleys and they also rejoiced with me on the mountain tops! My basketball journey is so much greater than wins and losses. I have learned so much through each year but I learned so much about myself in this final season as a bear. I learned what it looks like to love and serve others without wanting or needing anything in return. I learned how to lead well through any circumstance. I learned that my identity is not in my performance or what others have to say about me, my identity and purpose lies in Jesus! Though this chapter is ending and it may seem hard to see what my purpose is now… I’ve come to realize that even though my circumstances and my platform have changed, God’s purpose for me has stayed the same! I want to thank any and everyone who has been a part of this journey. I want to thank my family and my parents for their sacrifices and constant support in helping me chase my dreams. God is so good!

And although my time in Greeley has come to an end, it’s hard to put into words what this chapter has meant to me. I came here with goals, but I’m leaving with so much more than I ever expected. This place gave me memories I’ll carry for the rest of my life. Through every high and low, I found growth, strength, and a second home. The people here made this experience what it was, and I’ll always be thankful for that. I’ve learned so much about who I am, both on and off the court. It’s truly the end of an era, and I wouldn’t trade a single moment. 🐻💛💙
