2027 PRE-ENTRY OPEN (link in bio)

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Plumbing and heating apprentices, unsure about entering an award? Start with what you’ve learned.

Apprentice of the Year entry asks about your projects, the skills you’ve gained and how you’ve helped your team. You’re entering as an apprentice, not someone who knows everything.

A shout-out to Connie Pawsey, Daisy Turner, Jessica Buck, Joe Styles and Sam Mberi, the 2026 Heating Installer Awards Rising Star national finalists. 👏

This year, The Plumber Awards and Heating Installer Awards are running the 2027 category together.

Know an apprentice who needs encouragement?
Send them this and tell them why they should enter.

Free entry. Check entry details through the link in our bio.

Friday flashbacks forward news

2023 my first ever Plumber Socials founded by legend @pointy_plumber now @installersocial

The day when picture was taken, I don’t know Pointy much or truth be told most of people in the trade I was only one year in green asparagus in the industry.

So reason I share this. I was on his instagram just now and saw the video and myself and wanted to say massive thank you to this legend for always being truly just one of the most humble people I know!

IYKYK the vibe back in the day of the social (I made my trades friends there and people I wouldn’t have otherwise met or spoken to ) and guess what??? for 2027 it’s going back to OG location - Wednesday 23rd June The Custard Factory

(same day as @heatinginstallerawards National winner announcement at 1pm installer plaza hall 5)

The renewable game gets heavy sometimes 😂

Yes, I could have bought one… but I’ve never been impressed with the shop-bought heat pump brackets. Too flimsy, and they sag under the weight of the unit 😬

So I made my own for this Grant R290 heat pump 🔥 Cut, drilled, welded and painted from scratch in the workshop. Built properly, built to last 💪

Would you buy one or make your own? 👇

Danfoss 🤝 HIA

2 Weeks ago today I had the opportunity to fly out to Denmark with Danfoss and HIA as one of my amazing prizes for winning HIA Rising star 2026 ✨️

It was an incredible trip start to finish, with so much to take in! 🙌

An amazing time meeting all the Danfoss team, an amazing ribbon cutting ceremony, some amazing food, some amazing sights and an amazing community 🫶

Ever wondered how a radiator is actually made? 👀

We went behind the scenes inside the Stelrad factory to see the whole process—from massive coils of raw steel, to pressing, welding, testing, painting and packing.

It is seriously impressive to see the scale of British manufacturing up close. These are the radiators we all see in homes every day, but very few people get to see what goes into making one.

This short clip only shows a small part of it…

The full factory tour is now live on YouTube. I’ll put the link in the comments 👇

What part of the process surprised you most?

And what British manufacturer should we visit next?

So much for a chilled Saturday 😅

Had a boiler breakdown come in Thursday that I just couldn’t fit in during the week, so today it was top priority – getting the customer’s heating and hot water back on 🔥🚿

Quick call out this morning, sorted, then squeezed in another small job on the way home. Finished off by giving the van a proper wash ready for Monday – she was stinking after all the back roads and farm lanes 🚐💦

Even Stelrad’s very own “Rad the Lad” got a scrub 🧽😂

Weekend starts now… hopefully! 🍺
