Jose in the Plaid and 2-Tone Weebill Caps made specially for us by @troyosheahandmade. Although inspired by short visor outdoor caps, they also function very well as a cycling cap. Over time through use the cotton will break in and soften, becoming super comfortable and perfectly fitted just for your head.

Some flicks from our first Sydney group ride AM Cruise #2. A massive thanks to all that came out on a rainy day for a chill morning ride and @heaux.say for leading. We’re super stoked on the turnout and can’t wait to organise another ride soon.

after getting absolutely thumped by this route across 3 days last year on one of my first bike trips, I was keen for revenge and to try it in 2 (with a little rerouting to avoid the heinous Maroora Boss Firetrail) 😈

a very late day zero arrival to a very full, very noisy, free campsite on a long weekend just out of Blackheath was maybe not the start we were hoping for, but after catching a few solid hours of sleep we were up and rearing to go at 8am for day 1 with 96kms and 2600m of climbing ahead of us 🌄

the day began with the six foot track, classically made for people walking without heavily laden bikes, evidenced in the multiple sets of stairs across fences. the cox’s river gnome @vapesandtofu was kind enough to let us pass, demonstrating optimal river crossing bike carrying technique to minimise drive train submersion risk. questionable logging forest management resulted in some apocalyptic scenes and mandatory buff (re)application 🔥. after many many hours of steep climbs, hike-a-bike and night riding, we were all delighted to cross a frigid river (some with appropriate footwear more delighted than others, +1 for crocs) before a final 33% gradient pinch up to infamously cursed dingo dell campground at 11pm and a birthday brownie for @lycra_adjacent 🎂

after collectively experiencing some of the deepest sleep we’ve had on a bike trip, we pushed on for another 127km across some more rough and rocky fire trails, 2100m climbing and my favourite road descent down to the saving grace of the steak and cheese pies of Wombeyan caves kiosk. 🥧🦘 keeping white line fever at bay, we rolled down a final gentle paved 30km to our well deserved McDonalds in Mittagong, with a last minute dash to the train station just to keep us on our toes

another epic trip for the books with some epic humans! satisfied, grateful, and always hungry for more! 🙇🏻‍♀️

Time for some Hard Bikepacking™️ thanks to the organisational skills of @danajordan_ in time for @lycra_adjacent’s birthday. 15hrs total time on the first day, with lots of hike a bike, revenge on night time river crossings, ridiculous 25% grade sandy climbs and descents, and worst of all at some point I lost my stock cubes. My flavourless dinner was rescued with half of cam’s noodle seasoning packet. I still remember how devastating it was to lose my cheese on the Hunt 1000 in 2023.

A sleepless night at a busy long weekend campsite near Blackheath gave way to all of us being knocked out at Dingo Dell after a 10:41pm arrival and late dinner.

After 2 visits to Dingo Dell’s spicy descent and hike a bike this year I feel pretty done with this cursed campsite for a while!

But also feeling more healed after doing a day of Cloudride level difficulty with my bike for the first time since I fell in the snowy river ✨ ✨

@cmwc2025sydney, as everyone trickled into Sydney and the glowing feeling of seeing people arrive from multiple continents, appearing on the other side of the world. Faces you know, people you hadn’t realised were coming. Friends from home I’d been waiting to see again. New friends! Cute.

I did a three month bike tour across North America in 2018, which was the trigger to becoming a bike messenger, and seeing different faces in Sydney that I recognised from a very green me working my way across the US, was deeply special. All these tiny little memories of riding through peoples’ cities suddenly sparking.

I guess that’s the entire feeling of a championship though: a cacophony of tiny sparks of joy and fond memories, as you make even more. Every year it seems to grow, and I’m so glad I went to my first championship in 2016. I’m so glad for all these layers of memories that have grown.
