@tat_tober day 19: Hand(s). Soon as I saw this prompt I knew I wanted to do an homage to the legend Tony Iommi, the father of heavy and doom metal. Losing his fingertips in a factory accident meant he pioneered the power chord and downtuned style of playing that so many heavy bands today were influenced by.

The song Hand of Doom was actually written by bassist Geezer Butler after meeting some Vietnam veterans in the 70s, who were suffering from heroin and acid addictions to deal with their trauma from the war (hence the poppy flower in my composition).

Not my usual style, but good to get some floral practice in before the rose prompt tomorrow.

Scroll to the end to see a photo I took the last time I saw Sabbath live in 2016.

@tat_tober day 18: Weapon (Or is it 90s style again? 😅) I was strongly considering drawing one of my favourite scifi weapons - the gristle gun from David Cronenbergs eXistenZ movie. Decided to go for something a bit simpler so I have some time to chill tonight, so here's the noisy cricket from Men in Black, in glorious desert chrome style.

@tat_tober day 17: Devil.

Stretched myself on this one, trying a colour realism/neotrad style piece for the first time. Lots to learn about colour theory. Love the composition and idea of Josh Homme as the Devil, so will definitely revisit this in future.

@tat_tober day 16: Wolf. Here's my take on the classic, with a goofier longer face, possibly more werewolf than wolf.

@tat_tober day 15: Nautical. Pulled a late one after work to get this beast finished. Bit loose, but a piece i'd definitely like to develop in future.

@tat_tober day 14: Swallow. Quick, simple one today, inspired by the legend of the swallow stealing fire from the gods and giving it to humanity. Its said that in their anger they threw a firebrand at the swallow, burning its middle tail feathers, giving it its signature v shape. Had to finish the wee guy off with a Keith Flint double mohawk for good measure.

@tat_tober day 12: Dragon. Been wanting to try my hand at japanese dragons and finger waves for a while. Here's my first attempt. Happy with the overall composition but need to practice my scales more.

@tat_tober day 11: Religious. Heres my rendition of the Ophanim, one of the biblical angels described in the book of Ezekiel. Not the image that comes to mind when you think of angels is it.

Described as interlocking wheels covered in eyes, moving in harmony with the four-faced Cherubim beneath the throne of God. Vigilant cosmic guardians, never sleeping, and representing divine omniscience (all-seeing eyes) and omnipresence.

@tat_tober day 10: Horse. As its Chinese year of the fire horse, figured it'd be cool to have a pop at one.

@tat_tober day 9: Luck. Couldn't decide whether to do a Lucky Frog or a Lucky Gnome, so did both...as Han Solo and Obi Wan discussing how they escaped the empire in Star Wars a New Hope 🙃

BIt of a challenge doing 2 pieces without any prior experience doing things like this, definitely need to work on those cherry blossoms, yikes.

@tat_tober day 8: 90's style. As a kid growing up in the 90's i remember Looney Tunes and skateboarding were all the rage, so here's a Cyco Tweety Pie doing an ollie grab.
