An Unspeakably Wonderful Mysterious Something

By Blake Hohenhaus, co-created with Alex Fimeri and Eugene Beissel

105 years ago, four scientists in Toronto discovered something unspeakably wonderful. A treatment for the young and withering. A volatile thing, previously mis-understood: Insulin. They shared their discovery as their gift to the world. Millions of lives were saved.

Fast forward to 2026. Type 1 Diabetics around the world rely second-to-second on this miracle of modern medicine, but how did we get to where we are now?

An Unspeakably Wonderful Mysterious Something is a one-man performance lecture that investigates the limits of both theatricality and the human body, exposing in no uncertain terms the realities of the balancing act every Type 1 Diabetic performs moment-to-moment in order to stay alive.

Some Roundtable moments from the last few months....
A library of libraries at Blindside ARI, Convalescence readings at Coates Community Arts, Oddany's bookstore opening and the Bell City Arts Market.

Have been prioritising fundraising and my Master's, but fear not! Many plans on the horizons and many goodies (publications and ,PDFS) to quench your thirst between events!

Love to all!
PS donate to the fundraiser on my previous post xx
