Got a glimpse of what life in Yemen was like this summer. Had so much family visiting that I haven't seen in over 10 years and got to experience the feeling of gathering at my grandmas house every week. Except not at my grandma house and missing so much more family! Also missing the hectic chaos of Yemen streets, the sounds of cars and the Yemeni dialect. I miss the smells of food and the markets. Still praying and refuse to lose hope for a safe Yemen where we can gather again🩷

Alhamdulilah, finally a BSc Economics graduate from SOAS University of Londres 25’.

Grateful to have had an amazing experience and couldn’t have done it without my family and friends especially Leyan, Karima and Amal, my sisters frr 🥹🥹. When I talk about my experience, it’s always something I could go on for days talking about. From belly laughing endlessly to endless assignments to mispronouncing Paul Wembley to security uncles lecturing me about god knows what to spontaneous trips to Brunswick to the learning lounge that had no learning done whatsoever to library yap sessions, you name it the list could go on🤣.

Having met so many people across my 3 years that I now call my friends, I will always be grateful at my time at SOAS and will never stop meeting more people because essentially, life’s too short to be worried about what people think of you.
If anything, uni taught me that being unapologetically me is what brought the right people into my life and that’s something I’ll cherish forever❤️
