A little Sunday matcha moment 🍵💚 I spent the afternoon at Matcha Lab’s Brewing Workshop at Heer Studio, and this was such a special hands-on experience. We got to sample two different types of matcha, learn more about how they’re prepared, and then create our own specialty matcha drink from scratch (with chocolate, oreo and whipped cream). I loved how interactive and intimate the class felt, especially being able to make something ourselves rather than just watch a demonstration. Matcha making 101 with @heerpottery 🍵 We recently attended one of Heer Pottery’s Matcha Lab Brewing workshops and made their yummy Snow Mountain drink. @heerpottery currently offer 3 different matcha making workshops but this one was perfect for those just starting out of their matcha journey 💚 Our instructor Iris demonstrated the basics of making matcha the traditional way and explained the different grades and materials used in the process. We then sampled some warm matcha she prepared for us before assembling our own iced matcha creation with chocolate, Oreo’ and whipped cream for a little extra indulgence. It was a great way to try matcha in different ways and the sweet drink we created is ideal for those who find matcha on its own a little too earthy or bitter. Heer Studio in Box Hill is home to Melbourne’s most unique collection of creative craft and cultural experience workshops all in one place 🏺 @heerpottery you can do everything from pottery and ceramics to candle making, cake decorating, tea blending, leather crafting, jewellery making, and more. We tried one of the most unique classes of all, the Incense Making for Beginners Workshop where we learnt how to hand-make our own incense from scratch using traditional Chinese methods and herbal medicine philosophies 🫶 Each participant chose their own blend of herbal ingredients to craft their signature scent which was mixed into a paste and shaped into sticks and cones. There was also the option to decorate them with crushed flowers too 🌸 This class also included a herbal tea blending experience where we hand-crushed a selection of natural, organic herbs and added them to a herbal tea base create our own personalised blend to sip on throughout the session (unlimited refills included) 🫖 Although not typically included in this class, on this occasion we were also provided with a small piece of clay to make our own incense burners too which was a lovely little bonus ❤️ @heerpottery classes are the perfect rainy-day activity and a wonderful way to unwind away from your phone and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s a great choice for a memorable date night, creative catch-up with friends, hen’s party, or even just a much-needed self-care session.
