What a beautiful trip & summer… :,)

Looking back on our recent trip to Peru and the last few months of VSM summer camps, I’m so grateful for the impact these opportunities have had on my heart, life, and relationship with God.

I got to experience God’s presence and leading SO much more with my personal agenda and daily routine out of the way.

It was through the early mornings, late nights, slight discomforts, and stretching challenges where God gifted me new convictions to help me in my walk with Him.

This trip and summer season has been incredibly meaningful to me. I’m humbled that God would allow me to serve His heart and His purposes in such a way as this. 💟
__________

A HUGE thank you to each person who has chosen to come alongside me - either prayerfully or financially - in this mission work.

If you saw my last post you know that I got to go on a missions trip to Peru, it was a beautiful experience not only with what we got to do as a team but what God did in our hearts. On this post I wanted to share some of the experiences I got to do.
Being in Peru, people speak Spanish so we had a translator to help us along the way. The main person that helped us with that is a girl named Hefziba. She is the pastors daughter at the church we were helping with in Peru. The relationship I got to build with her was very beautiful to me and I learned so much by watching her communicate with people. Without knowing God was teaching me too pay more attention to what I am going to say and be patient.
I got to have two other really beautiful experiences with two younger girls over there. One of them once I spent some time with her she was able to open up about different things she was struggling with and having gone through similar things I got to tell her how God showed me a way out of it. Overall the relationships I got to build with people were truly a way to learn more about being a light to the people around me. Especially when I am over there with a mission to be that way. I got to come back to America paying more attention to the little things and I am so grateful for all God showed me during this trip.
If you want to see more of what we did each day you can check out @veritas_shapes_ministries page.
I will be making one more post soon about what God did in my heart while I was there. So if you are interested read my next post coming soon.

Hey guys, I am back from Peru!

And what a beautiful trip it was! The work that my team got to do and that God did in and through us was beautiful. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to go back to the place where I had my first mission trip. This couldn’t have been done on my own, it was through the help of you guys supporting me and sending me on my go. So thank you for giving to me and for praying for me as I went on this journey. It truly was a blessing!
Me and my team got to sand, plaster, and paint the church in Chincha Alta pastored by the Saurez family. I believe God used those long hours to work in all of us and to help us unite as a team better. We also got to host a game of S.K.A.T.E.!. There were guys that came from an hour or two away just to join in and to hear the testimonies that were being shared at the end of the day. They were genuinely interested in what was being shared and wanted to talk more about it. While at the park, we also taught some of the local kids to skate and gave away some boards so they can continue to do so. It was cool to get to encourage them to share and encourage each other as they skate; to let it be something that brings them together.
In Peru I believe God spoke to all of us individually as well. There’s something about getting away from my normal day-to-day life and getting in a completely different culture that opens up more opportunities for God to speak. All in all, this was a beautiful trip that I can walk away from and see that a real impact was had. If you would like more information about the trip, message me about getting my newsletters or reach out about meeting up one day! Thank you again for sharing in the fruit of what God is doing in me and in Peru!

JUST IN CASE YOU DIDNT KNOW…

We made it back from Peru! And with stories to tell we are excited to share individually and corporately about what God did during this trip.

Going to Peru for this last trip was encouraging, stretching, and fulfilling. Encouraging because of how many people got to experience an out of country mission trip (hearing what God was doing in them through the trip was enlightening). It was stretching because any out of country trip will/should be uncomfortable and different than “the everyday” back home. It was also full filling because no matter where I go or what I am doing, God is FAITHFUL to lead me through each step I am willing to follow Him on.

We worked on the church building physically, we encouraged through relationships/sharing the church body spiritually, and we opened a whole new door to reach the lost through skateboarding.

It was epic to say the least. Trip #5 to chincha Alta was an amazing experience so different than the first 4… And I am still immensely grateful God has chosen me to keep going and ministering in this part of the world.

It gets me really stoked for the opportunities and challenges coming back home! Thanks for reading, watching, and staying in touch.

If you want to hear more, dm me so I can put you on my newsletter updates! 🫶🏻👊🏻🤙🏻

I’m back from Peru!!

I’m so grateful for those of you who gave towards this opportunity. Your decision to come alongside God in sending me on this mission is what made it possible!

A brief overview!👇

The majority of this trip was spent physically laboring the walls of “Bet-el”. Through several days of scraping, sanding, plastering, and painting, we got to bless the Suarez family that began this church.

Our team also had the privilege of sharing our testimonies and hosting a skate event - where we got to invest into many of the kids, youth, and skaters from the local area.

…This doesn’t include how I saw God work through our team and within my own heart during this trip- so stay tuned for more to come!

Thank you again to those of you who prayerfully invested into this Kingdom work.

The Suarez family, a group that we have partnered with in missions for many years now, has been a huge blessing to us. Their hospitality, flexibility, and commitment is a force to be reckoned with. Without it, this school would not have been possible!

Thank you so much Pastor Suarez, mama Rosio, Jose Pedro, Josafat, and Hefziba, for your hard work and dedication to seeing this week of learning through! The harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few, so we are incredibly thankful that we get to join forces with so many committed workers to collect His harvest! You are such a blessing to us in ministry, in work, and in friendship. We love you!!!

A 7-year journey of travel, ministry, and fighting for a vision has led us here, to an abandoned building hiding away in Chincha, Peru.

This facility had been patiently waiting for 4 years, sitting silent and unused until it was discovered by scouts committed to a vision that had been years in the making.

The Suarez family, a team that has dedicated themselves to ministry and has a beautiful passion for youth, found this place through contact with a local methodist church. Due to the pandemic in 2020, they had stopped all use of the building, and it’s been there collecting dust ever since. Through the Suarez’s casting of our vision to have a school for young people to grow in their relationship with God, this same church gave us the opportunity to use it. It needed a lot of love, a lot of cleaning, a lot of hard work. But none of this could phase them - too much potential. They believed in the vision.

January 1st through the 9th, we traveled to Peru full of hope and excitement, praying hard into the week of firsts before us. And in obeying our call to “Go,” prayers were answered, hope was fulfilled, and a vision from long ago - a seed - got to dig its roots in a little deeper. For the first time, Escuela de
Semillas, the “School of Seeds,” was born.

Here are some pictures of the facility that God used to plant “seeds” in the hearts of 15 dedicated students, as well as in the hearts of all those helping see the school come to life. We are excited to share more of the fruit with you soon. For now, give God praise and glory for the testimonies this building got to be a home for! For the blessing of getting to use it and the opportunity to continue using it in the future! And if not here, then somewhere, because when God begins a work, who can turn it back?

Hallelujah! 🙌🏻

Are there people missing out because you haven’t become the person you want to be yet?
Because you keep pushing off making changes?
Because you’re not even sure what God expects you to change?

These are some of the questions I asked myself walking into the new year. January 1st we went to Peru and VSM hosted a 5-day conference for young adults where they could slow down long enough to know God.
It was beautiful. The people there learned how to just simplify what they’ve heard about God and His expectations of them, so that they could find life by just knowing Him.
Even though I came as staff, I needed to hear the teachings just as much as the Peruvians did.

This year we’re going to start “Escuela de Semillas” or “School of Seeds,” where every few months will travel to Peru to spend time teaching people how to steward the seeds(truths) of God and His character in their hearts, so those seeds will grow to bear fruit.

There are people waiting to see someone who’s changed. Realize you could be the person they’re waiting for.
