If I only had 10 minutes a day to improve my turns, these are the exercises I’d prioritise. 💫
Great turns aren’t just about spotting or practicing pirouettes over and over. They come from building the strength, balance, control and mobility that your body needs to rotate efficiently.
These drills focus on:
✨ Single-leg stability
✨ Core control
✨ Hip strength
✨ Ankle stability
✨ Coordination
Consistency beats intensity. Spend 10 minutes a day on the foundations, and you’ll notice the difference when it’s time to turn.
Save this for your next training session, and let me know in the comments… what’s the biggest thing holding your turns back? 👇

Still falling out of your pirouettes?

Most dancers practice pirouettes by doing more pirouettes. But if you’re constantly falling out, the problem usually isn’t your turning technique—it’s the strength and stability underneath it.

This drill challenges your ability to maintain pelvic stability whilst moving through a plié and rise, all while controlling the working leg. The goal isn’t to crush the ball—just a gentle squeeze to encourage engagement and keep everything connected.

Remember: better pirouettes aren’t built by turning more. They’re built by training the qualities that support the turn.

Save this one for your next training session 💫
