Scrappy wall hanging and a pic of me happy as a clam with a matching sunset in the bay.

If I do a mend or alteration that I find boring or mind numbing. I’ve started to take the thread and pick fabric scraps to make a lil mini piece to bring back some whimsy and no pressure creativity back into my day.

Process and finished shots of my very first baby quilt + Quillow!!

I’ve steered clear for a lot of hand work and embroidery with RA but this one was made with so much patience, rest, time and love to welcome a special lil one into this world. Sure hope these linen scraps and wonky hand stitches treat Enzo well 💙

Free Giant Star Baby Quilt Pattern is by @polkadotchair
And it’s a gem. What an amazing simple beginner quilt. Go check them out!

Quillow was inspired by a thrifted fake printed twin quilt I found..
I’m not sure why all quilts don’t have an added transformer pillow pocket, but i hope to change that. Just imagine every pillow in your house a comfy blanket in seconds flat.

There’s a quick lil folding tutorial in the reel..

•Lay down Quilt, pillow pocket side down,
•fold quilt into thirds along pocket seams
•Then fold into thirds in other direction..
•Place hands inside pillow, hold and Flip it all inside out.
Quilt to Quillow!

a few diff angles of Jake sleeping..

Hand stitching with RA can be absolutely impossible on some days and a slow struggle on others. But an entire day with hot tea hand warmers, while working from home with our slug pup is still so dreamy.💜

Today’s not the day but trying to remain forever grateful for those days that I feel so capable. 🙏🏼

RECRAFT: WINTER/SPRING 2024
♻️♻️♻️
Historically, collectors, artists, and art historians have made critical distinctions between art and craft. Today, despite decades of scholarship and hundreds of exhibitions on the subject, the boundaries between art and craft continue to be blurred. Intending to put a twist on this centuries-old debate, our exhibition series RECRAFT looks at ways in which recycled, repurposed or craft-associated materials might intersect with traditional materials such as paint, ink and stone. And, how traditional subject matter such as genre painting, portraiture, landscapes and sculpture can be composed to reveal a new visual language.

Ten artists from across our region, representing unique art-making practices from puppetry to macrame, knot tying to quilt-making, complement and contribute to evolving our collective definitions of art.

Announcing our Spring Art Star Craft Bazaar lineup and it is 🔥🔥🔥 Erin and I revisited our layout inside @cherrystreetpier (it’s a science in itself!) 🤓and we made some tweaks that allows for over 80 vendors, so even more handmade goodness for you to fill your shopping totes with on May 11th and 12th. Visit our site or LINK IN BIO for the full lineup. We will also be joined by @nimble_craft and @projectjoystudio for some fun make and takes and food by Philly Taco. We are looking for one food truck to set up in front of the venue to serve our hungry customers, if that’s you, send us a DM! Unfortunately we can only have food trucks, no table set ups at this spot.

I couldn’t tag all the artists 😩😩😩 More pictures: @confluence_craftworks @____tyst @lilthrift_ma @artphysic @alaphair @ossoceramics @shipwreckpress @touchthreads @candicemakesthings @naturalorderhandmade @megstampede @femmeprints
