🎉 We have some exciting news to share!

Vietnamese Boat People has been selected as a recipient of the A4 Arts Fund from the Asian American Arts Alliance (A4)! 💛

The A4 Arts Fund supports under-resourced arts and cultural organizations across the country that uplift AAPI communities. To be recognized alongside organizations doing such meaningful work in their communities is an incredible honor.

For VBP, this support means more opportunities to continue doing what has always been at the heart of our work: preserving Vietnamese diaspora stories and creating spaces for our community to share, remember, connect, and be heard. 🌊

From our Our Journeys traveling exhibition and Story Slam to our oral histories, podcast, digital archives, and community programs, every part of VBP begins with a belief that our stories matter—and deserve to be preserved for generations to come.
We’re incredibly grateful to the Asian American Arts Alliance, with support from The Wallace Foundation and the National Arts Regranting Partners, for investing in this work and in the future of AAPI arts and culture.

And congratulations to our fellow A4 Arts Fund grantees! We’re honored to be part of this national community of organizations keeping our histories, cultures, creativity, and stories alive. 💛

Thank you for believing in the work we do. We can’t wait to keep building from here. 🌱

✨ Open Doors! Business Tours: Jade Market

This stop takes us inside Jade Market in Columbus Park, a small business incubator from Hella Good Deeds built to help Asian-owned businesses, artists, makers, and entrepreneurs grow in Kansas City.

Joined by Mindy Hargesheimer of Kansas City Bucket List, we explored a mix of locally made goods, gifts, art, accessories, and treats while learning more about the community behind the market.

Jade Market is more than a place to shop. It creates space for Asian entrepreneurs to be seen, supported, and connected while giving visitors a chance to discover products and stories they may not find anywhere else in the city.

Through Open Doors!, we’re proud to highlight spaces like Jade Market that bring culture, entrepreneurship, and community together under one roof.

Who should come shopping with us next!? Tag them below!?

Watch the tour and add Jade Market to your next stop in Columbus Park. ❤️💛💙
