Back at it with rarities from the Far East, I love this sort of thing, especially when you get a mix of rarity and steal at once 🎣 Until now, I thought it was a Nike Signal (JP) from the late 80s, given that distinctive detail on the side of the toebox found on models from that era—like the Nike Ceiba, Patna Plus, or Cova Windrunner, to name a few. That reflective detail (3M or Scotchlite) for safe night running and keep visibility. Upon double-checking the Signal in the catalog, they don't share any similarities... Signals first of all, have air Unit and a dual-density midsole with waffle outsole. The heel logo is different though also reflective and the toebox detail is smaller. So, I’d say my find is a more affordable model with less tech from the same year. You can find details about the Nike Signal in slides 6 and 7 from Nike Handbook 1988 🇯🇵 I think this was the cheapest deal of my hunting days—a ridiculous 7 cents. The funny thing is, the pack came with three pairs; I got rid of the others and only sent this one in. After a thorough cleaning and disinfection, they ended up in acceptable condition. Anyway...It’s a great display piece ,the sole is stiff, and the synthetic material on the Swoosh and heel is very fragile due to age. Does anyone know anything about this model? Had you seen it before? I’d appreciate any info... maybe Peter knows something? 😉 @null6neun . Today we have something interesting for this #tbt 1989 is the year this model was manufactured. Why is it interesting? There are several factors. It could be a sample or a Nike mash-up from the Far East, recycling midsoles and uppers from various models. When I saw it, my mind was blown, and without thinking twice, I snapped it up. At first, I thought it was a Nike Air Step 🇯🇵 and at that price... (Laughs) I didn't think twice. Unfortunately, without OG box, but in excellent cond, with visible nipples and clean uppers. The size inside hasn't faded either, which indicates little to no use. Any opinions and knowledge are welcome. Leave your comment. Update: Damn! And that was fast! Mr P aka @null6neun and his good eye, recognized the model as the MR-4. This is great! My head is cooked with so many models i couldnt recognize its a Mens run 4 😂 thank you man! Hilarious thing is @sneakersian offered me his pair few months ago....🤦 same cw! You always learn something when youre surrounded by the best 🫡 and now you notice the similarity with the air step and the quest being this 2 some upgraded models with better tech than the Mr-4 which was a more affordable pair back in the days.
