On 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙚 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙂𝙤𝙩, @cootiecatcher69 channel primitive, direct (and weirdly wholesome) tones in between plundered textures and pitch-twisted, weaving melodies.

“An interesting newer aspect of cootie catcher’s style visible on this project is a comfortability with some of the more atonal dimensions to their songs. There are stretches, like “Rhymes with rest”, “Take me for granted” or “Quarter note rock”, that are tinged with a kind of lonely but expansive register in vocalists Sophia Chavez and Anita Fowl.”

@remembersportsband are currently on tour across the US with still a ways to go but last week made their stop in Atlanta performing songs from The Refrigerator. Their raw, live sound was exactly how you hear it on the record mixed only with the sounds of new and longtime fans belting along the lyrics to every song with Carmen Perry.
