If it’s easy to sign up with one click, it should be just as easy to cancel with one click. That’s why New York City is becoming the first city in the nation to implement a Click-to-Cancel Rule.

Starting October 1, businesses will be required to make cancellations as easy as sign-ups. The rule is projected to save New Yorkers up to $162.5 million each year.

If you’re stuck in a subscription trap, report it at nyc.gov/Consumers.

It should be as easy to cancel a subscription as it is to sign up for one. The advertised price should be the price you pay. New Yorkers are losing up to $162.5 million a year and countless hours of precious time at the hands of companies who count on people being too small to fight back. That stops now.

By bringing people who’ve led the national fight for consumers and workers to his administration, @nycmayor Mamdani is doing things no city has done before.

Always great to stand with Commissioner Levine, Senator Gonzalez @sengonzalezny who has been leading this fight in Albany, and the amazing Chair Lina Khan.

The move is expected to save New Yorkers up to $162.5 million per year.
