There was a time I did not fully understand emotionally avoidant people.

I thought love was about consistency, clarity, and mutual presence.

So when I encountered distance, silence, or hesitation, I tried to meet it with more understanding… more patience… more grace.

But what I learned is this:
Emotionally avoidant people are not always incapable of love—
they are often unfamiliar with the vulnerability it requires.

And that creates a quiet imbalance.

Because you begin to: Over-explain what should be felt
Overextend where there should be reciprocity
Overstay in spaces where emotional safety is inconsistent

What I had to learn—gently, but firmly—is that
love cannot grow where emotional availability is absent.

No matter how strong your intentions are.
No matter how deeply you feel.
You cannot build connection alone.

And more importantly,
you should not have to earn basic emotional presence.
So now, I move differently.

I pay attention to alignment, not potential.
I listen to patterns, not promises.

And I choose connections where openness is not something I have to negotiate.

Because the right kind of love
does not make you question whether you are too much…

it meets you with the same depth you are willing to give.

And that is the standard.

Day 23 - What is your main character's greatest strength?

Rose has a lot of strengths, but if I had to pick her main one, it would be her ability to dust herself off and start again.

She might wallow for a minute or two, but she doesn't let the negatives drag her down.

The message in Nik's photo sums up Rose perfectly - difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations ❤️ Check out Nik's photographs over on Unsplash @helloimnik__ ❤️
