“Conceiving Tradition”💗 on display now @sewloka !! Thank you for this beautiful opportunity, I feel very privileged to display my work in such a beautiful space💕
This body of work revolves around the cultural domestic labors passed on by our mothers, grandmothers and female role models in our lives. Bringing honor to their sacrifice, love and teachings.

🎞️🌵“Corazón Espinado” Clay, acrylic and thorns
8x10 Film photo by @lizray.photography
On display @cvcasacasillas

🌵 I’ve been painting cactus hearts for the past 6 years now. I feel that the cactus heart imagery resonates so much with our humanity. With our culture, our pain, beauty, resilience & a nuance of experiences.

My sister is a talented photographer & creative and I had the honor of having my work be a muse for this vision she had. She has watched me grow, not only as a person but as an artist. So when she suggested the idea of bringing my cactus heart into a 3D form for a photoshoot, of course I had to say yes. It was such a great experience bringing this piece to life together🌵🫀

📷Thank you @lizray.photography for these beautiful photos & creative vision! 💕 looking forward to future collabs 😉

i have been hoarding this small project for two years, but revisiting this short has revitalized my love for narrative media and desire to create more outside of my commercial work. hopefully i’ll be able to see to it sooner than later this time around :-)

Meet the art team…

The aesthetic of the film couldn’t be elevated without the effort of the production design team, costumes and makeup. Hard work paid off. “Best Production Design” Award is the biggest recognition for this talented team.
