I’m Joy — founder + the face behind Solea 🤍

Aussie born. Mum. Former educator. And someone who has always found her way back to movement.

Fitness has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. But after becoming a mum, I found myself wanting something different from it. Pilates pulled me in deeper and gave me an entirely new appreciation for how the body can move.

I fell in love with a different kind of strength — the kind that comes from control, intention and connection. There was something powerful about movement that didn’t have to be loud to be hard.

Eventually, that love led me to pursue my teacher training. What I thought would simply deepen my practice ended up opening the door to something much bigger.

But Pilates is only one part of how I love to move. Strength has always been the foundation — getting stronger, challenging myself, and discovering what my body is capable of. And I’ve learned I don’t have to choose one way of getting there.

Because strength doesn’t have just one look.

It can be controlled and powerful. Soft and feminine. Quiet and resilient. It can be pushing yourself physically, or simply choosing to show up for yourself when that feels hard.

I’ve never believed women have to choose between being strong and being feminine.

We can be all of it.

And that belief has shaped so much of what I wanted Solea to become.

Solea is rooted in Pilates, but shaped by all the different ways I’ve loved to move over the years. It’s intentional without being rigid. Strong without losing softness. A little feminine, a little bold, and never afraid to turn the energy up.

I wanted to create a space with room for all of it. Where you can slow things down and move with intention. Turn the music up and sweat. Pick up something heavier and challenge yourself in a completely different way.

More than anything, I hope Solea becomes your space, too. Somewhere you come to move, connect, challenge yourself, and feel good doing it.
