APR is ringing in the new year with its first guest from Cartago, Costa Rica, @_sebasvargas! We connected with Sebas through mutuals from @timelessradiocr, where we caught clips and sets of him DJing and producing energetic and groovy sounds. His guest mix truly showcases the variation in his palette, intersecting local and the electronic sound. We are grateful to have Sebas join the Apply Pressure family 💜 He is definitely one you want to keep on your radar.

Here’s are a few words from Sebas:

“DJ from Costa Rica exploring both sides of music. I deliver high-energy, dancefloor-driven sets while also diving into laid-back, atmospheric sounds made for sunsets, late nights, and immersive listening. With over 4 years in the scene, my sound is guided by emotion, movement, and connection with the crowd. Rooted in electronic music, I blend dancehall, reggaeton, and hip-hop vocals, while also DJing other genres influenced by Costa Rica’s cultural sound, reflecting both local identity and global influences. Inspired by a wide range of music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s passed down to me by my dad, and by electronic artists such as Martin Garrix, Fred again, Skrillex, Hamdi, Sammy Virji, Urboi and others, music is how I connect with people and with a community that shares the same passion, many of whom I now proudly call friends.”
